Tech junky, what kind of camera did you use? Nice video! Also how bad is it in the Winter, maybe you haven't been there in the Winter yet. I like a combo travel and food videos. Or maybe make tow channels?

Thank you! Can I ask what is the best way to pay for all the travel? Buy the shinkansen tickets separately, and then also the Hakone pass?

Before purchasing the Hakone freepass, please ask for the Hakone freepass brochure and read the fine print on the bottom of the front page. There is a rule that says, "The Hakone Freepass (including those valid for multiple days) cannot be used after returning to your departure station." Basically, the freepass is encourages people to stay in Hakone to fully benefit from it. It doesn't matter if two or three days pass once you return back to Shinjuku station, the freepass cannot be reused again. In our case the station staff took away our two-day pass which was only used for one day. Anyway, I think I should put it out there to let everyone know there is a rule they need to know about it. Love your videos.

This was a great video since it showed what it was like taking the Romance Car to Hakone and also showed the Open Air Museum, which I haven't seen in any other videos. I was hoping you could clarify 3 points. One, since you took the Romance Car, but had to sit backyards for the duration of the trip, while I noticed that this has large windows to see the scenery, did you really think it was worth taking (gather it takes an extra half house vs. taking the Shinkansen). I think you mentioned or I heard that you can typically view all the exhibits in 1 to 1.5 hours. Would you agree....since you mentioned the large Picasso exhibit, I wondered if this is enough time. I also noted that you said you'd be doing a vlog which shows the famous Tori gate & shrine, the ship tour (pirate ship) and a visit to Owakudani. Did you take this trip?....I didn't see any video and wanted to watch it. Thanks for making this interesting. Cheers, Ron

Nikko is a place I want to visit when I go to Japan in November but we will only have one day and would really like to visit the falls and go down the elevator there, and lake if possible and also the shrine. We will use our JR pass so not sure what other ticket would be better to buy once we arrive? How will we get around Nikko and fit everything into one day 🤔

Is the third floor terrace level with the building? Is it completely leveled in with the building the hotel? or does it stick out like it does here in the States like stick out further than the building?

Thanks for watching this video! Spellbinding Japan is a brand new channel, showcasing the beauty and uniqueness of Japan, in a “silent vlog” format. In order to influence the direction this channel will go in, please tell me what you like and don’t like about the content of the videos. Should I focus more on Japanese food? Should I visit certain places in Japan? Should I video staying at hotels? Should I cover travel by plane, ferry, bus, or train? Let me know, and it will have a big impact on where this new channel will go…

No this is fine. Love the video. Do you think 4~5 days in Karuizawa is too long? Should I stay in Tokyo and go to Karuizawa as a side trip? Looking for a town where I can just bum around...looks like the perfect place for what I want. What do you think?

Our family had a summer house on Kumoba pond back in the 70s. We spent 2 months every summer in Karuizawa. I've actually seen John Lennon and Yoko Ono riding around Karuizawa on a tandem bike, many times, back in the day. I never spoke to them but I know people who have and by all accounts they were very approachable, friendly and chatty. Karuizawa is like my second hometown. Other than the outlet mall and the new train station it really hasn't changed that much. You call it the Hamptons of Japan. I call it the Gatlinburg of Japan. 😂
