@@dwdos Thank you that’s a huge complement! I’ve had some changing life circumstances this year that required me to put personal projects on hold. I have multiple videos planned for the future I’m hoping I can get back at it soon. Thanks again for the words of encouragement!

It's crazy we have almost have the same exact gear. I have the full rokinon dsx set, Zcam M4, Lumix S1, and I have the original S5.

I’ve upgraded a few of my cameras, I have the s5iix and an ursa mini 4.6k g2 now. Those are great cameras but as time went on I wanted a camera with internal ND and one camera with good autofocus.

@@workoflightstudios Definitely want a camera with internal ND. I did buy a lens adapter with a throttle ND, but it starts at like ND 1 or 2. Still using the Rokinon?

@@NewCompVisuals yeah the adapter didn’t work out for me personally. Yes I still use the Rokinons, I have all the lenses 24 through 85mm. They really are a great value especially with the wide aperture. Even more expensive lenses in allot of cases aren’t this fast.

I wonder how this would look if you attached an anamorphic adapter like the Blazar 1.5x. 🤔And using it with a metabones speedbooster for my aps-c cam.

I’ve considered this as well. In my experience with anamorphic adapters (which is limited) you get the best results by getting the adapter as close to the glass of the taking lens as possible. Depending on the designs of the taking lens it’s may not have good results, there is allot of trial and error with anamorphic adapters to find which lenses work best. Typically lenses with the same thread size as the adapter is the way to go. Using rings to adapt it to the lens can add more distance which can have a negative impact on the image. I was interested in that adapter initially but I have decided to wait until I can afford to purchase an actual anamorphic lens set.

Hi there.. i was planning to use this lens on my Sony fx 3.. do i need the adapter to put in this Rokinon Cine lens? And is it a good idea to use in on Sony FX3? Or should i go purchase the 7Artisan 50mm Cine lens instead? Hope to hear from you soon..

The Rokinon DSX lenses come in a variety of mounts including Sony E mount. I personally bought the EF mount version and use a Sigma Mc-21 adapter (Mc-11 is for Sony) to adapt to my LUMIX cameras. I went with The canon EF mount version because than I can adapt them to a wide variety of cameras or use them natively on canon cinema cameras. I bought meike cinema lenses in a Fuji mount in the past and regretted the purchase because I had to sell them when switching camera systems instead of being able to use them with my new cameras. So I recommended either buying EF or PL mounts when it comes to cinema lenses to future proof your purchase. Also if you get the Sigma MC-11 adapter you can use canon lenses with autofocus it isn’t necessary to get this specific adapter there are many different adapters but not all of them provide autofocus. For cinema lenses you can just use an adapter with no electronics and they are lower in price. In regard to the 7artisan lenses I haven’t tried them so I cannot comment personally.

@Work of Light Studios Thanks for the reply mate, really appreciate it. Cause normally others will just ignore me.. hahaha.. Then i will purchase the rokinon 50mm and the adaptor as you suggested to give it a try. But seems like not many people made review on the rokinon lens on sony fx3...

Great review! Thanks for filling in the gap... not many reviews on these like you said. I purchased these during a sale when they were marked down quite a bit and I don't regret it. Honestly love using them and the look they give.

Great Stuff! I think it goes to show what you can find at the lower end of the lens market. Lots of imperfect gear that produces solid results. I had a similar reason in investing in the DSX line up, the need for having manual focus gear for video + a relatively low cost entry point for that gear due to not knowing how far it might go. For folks who are considering getting this as their start into approaching a more serious relationship with video, go for it. The results are decent enough to warrant that initial $200-300 per lens, especially when many of them can be found in your native mount. This will also allow you to learn to shoot on non-stabilized lenses while also gaining the knowledge around kitting out a camera rig and the whole "Do I really need this" aspect.
