All you did was paint it!!! When are you going to do the restoration of the tank? You didn't do anything about removing the rust inside and out and rejuvenate the metal repairing a pitting!!! You did not even hydro test it to see if it's going to be safe to hold the pressure!!! Old air compressor tanks are extremely dangerous and can kill people!!! Why did you lie in the title like that? Do you lie like that on all your videos? If you don't even know the meaning of the word restoration you should not even use it!!!!! Look how squatch 253 restores something!!! Every single piece of it! Every tiny little thing is like it came from the original factory!!!!! That is a restoration!!!!!

Nice work man. Iqnore all these people with there remarks. Very few tanks blow up. Most just get a pin hole leak. The older tanks are way better and would be even less likely to just blow up

USB borescopes are cheap and great fun to use with phone, tablet or PC. I use them to inspect compressor tanks, engines, plumbing and more. The scopes fit through fairly small fittings and make inspecting installed tanks easy.

Well Crap! There are a lot of nasty comments here. Some of these commenters really need to be more "constructive" with their criticism. I think this was a very good attempt at a 1st project. It could have been a 1st step and a learning experience to the beginning of a good channel. I'm kind of sad that this was the only video uploaded on this channel. I hope this guy is still doing his thing even if he isn't filming and posting it up here.

Would be much easier and more effective if you take the compressor apart and have just the tank. Half-assed job

Don’t let these knucklehead viewers tell you that your tank is going to explode because it won’t! Although the compressor sounds like it may have a little bit of a knock in it , Nevertheless, nice job !

Most of them compressors you see go bang are cheap nasty tin foil Chinesium ones. Something like this weighs an absolute ton, proper thick metal and built to last. As the saying goes, they dont build them like they used to. This will probably outlive all of us before it gives up the ghost. Good job.

ROC 12 would place that compressor somewhere in the 1970 vintage. Not sure that’s the original tank. Early 50s would have been ROC 4ish

P.O.D "Boom! Here comes the Boom! Ready or not," I have seen some videos of compressors failing and that thing is a ticking time bomb. You need to cut that tank open and remove all the internal rust add more material. Than machine it smooth to fix the pitting. I still would just through the tank away cause I know nothing about the physics involved of calculating the loss of the strength in metal, due to the heating and cooling cause by the welding. Everyone please check out the videos of compressors failing and drain your compressor out the bottom after every use.

If the inside look like the outside, paint or no paint, it's compromised, and theres is some risk of explosion...

I realize you didn't want to take the compressor out of service, but that would have been the easier and better way to recondition the tank. You could have also done a hydrostatic test to verify it wasn't about to blow through from the inside out. Thumbs Up!

Pretty obvious. The paint he was using could not handle America Dry so he used the weaker Japan Dry.

It reduces dry time, so that the next morning I could sand and put the second coat on. My barn is really humid and things take a while to dry. Thanks for subscribing!
