It is hard to watch this because of a lot of shakes and poor videography. What determines the value of an oriental rug is not design and color at the first place. First of all is the type of knots, secondly it is the region that is made, third is style; city, village or tribal, forth is the grade of craftsmanship, was it made by a master, an experienced weaver or a trainer and lastly which is very important is the age of the rug. That's how you break it down and determine the value of a rug.

Loribaft Gabbehs are more tightly woven and may have more detailed designs.

Hi - Just happened upon your rug gallery/videos featuring BIJAR Collection for SALE online as of about a year ago so I don''t know if the information is up to date. Also, I noticed no information is given about COLORS.....are they natural veggie dyes or are they chemical dyes. Also, is your store still in Santa Rosa? Another outstanding video, Penny. Some years ago, someone told me that 'unreconciled corners' are more valuable than not. In some cases, done on purpose by the weaver to prove there is no true 'perfection'. I'd love to learn more about that.

I have 2 six month old pups and my iPhone filled with stills and videos for the same reason. Did you raise them from puppies or get them when older? You don’t train them to do “silly things” (same here) but nice job with 1:56 Baby Girl on sit/stay at a distance! Thanks for sharing!

So far my Afghan suppliers are doing OK on bringing in new inventory. They are both Turkomans and have established weavers working for them for many years. I did hear of one Afghan producer/wholesaler that had to shut down but his weavers were in a different area from my suppliers.
