The video of ships is great. The moron music ruins it.

Sam thats a nice video of the American Mariner leaving duluth. Sam she was build in 1980 and she is 44. Sam her fleetmate the John J Boland had the Indian Head logo installed and I'm very suprised. I'm not sure If the American Mariner, Sam Laud and H Lee White will had the logo installed.

I took my dad's 17foot Thompson wood runabout with five horse Mercury outboard, under the bridge in your video. I had never run that boat before and I was by myself. I was fourteen at the time and learned real quick about river currents and not getting close to ships. I loved it,stuck on the wrong coast now.

Passing by Boldt castle. We bought a boat up there last year and it is just beautiful. Took the boat home to Long Island but we would love to sail back up.

This is a nice viewing spot, I hope to go shipspotting on the St. Lawrence someday. Also that was a lot of smoke coming out of the Perelik, it's not even that old yet either lol.

The Classic Lake Freighters have the best Design (Pilot House Forward, Engine Cabins Aft). Also, I especially like the ones with the Small Pilot House, like the one on 1:15.

Excellent footage! I suspect we’ve crossed paths a few times in Duluth. If you see a grey-haired guy with a tripod and a fuzzy microphone, be sure to say hello. 🙂

Never got to see her, great video of it! Next time you go to the welland I might have to try and go too, it looks too cool to pass up with how close you are to the boats!

Back in the day, and I was on vacation in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. I was on a Soo Locks Tour Boat and after locking through the Poe Lock. The Soo Locks Tour Boat was sailing Upbound towards the Algoma Steel Plant in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. I remember when, this Freighter was named Canadian Transport, and sailing in Upper Lakes Shipping Limited Colors. I,took,Four Pictures of the Canadian Transport unloading ore at the Algoma Steel Plant. And, to this very day and I still have the Four Pictures of the Canadian Transport in my Photo Album and I will still keep them. The Canadian /Algoma Transport will be missed 😢 . I took the Four Pictures in 1995. 4:08

Looks like i opened YT just at the perfect time. Sweet video of the Transport. It's a shame her working life is over, but hauling salt is hard on a ship. ✌️✌️

Marine Robin was scrapped, part of her was used to build Thompson..and it is a common misconception that Marine Robin was at Normandy DDay...she was in New York harbor, having just delivered Agricultural workers from Jamaica, and had yet to be pressed into military service..she latef sailed from Norfolk to Naples, where she entered the war effort in August 44, and in Operation Dragoon, the Invasion of SOUTHERN France, her Naval Gun crew earned 2 battle ribbons/stars..All this info is out there, but a simple mistake @20 years ago has led to the false DDay attribution..thanks for the video, you went the extra mile for us!!

I only seen her once in detour loading at Drummond. Definitely sad to see this barge go.
