So does the Oneida Supercell have a HEPA filter? How can you actually shake the fine dust out of the filter?
@automaticprojects
@automaticprojects 2 ай бұрын
I’ve had the same saw for years and have a splitter on the two dust ports and the same dust right hose that I move from tool to tool. Note that the hose is larger than 4” so you need to mount the adapters on to any 4” port you want to use move the hose between. Works great.

Is that the 55-gal. drum on the Oneida Super Cell; rather than the 35-gal. drum?

I have the same band saw. Works ok. I recently heard it will do better with one port, and other taped close. But it seemed to be same resawing a 10 inch board. Again, try the mag port. It’s amazing.

Thanks for this review. I’m about to connect my supercell to a new 20 inch jointer planer and I’m concerned. BTW I find that dust right handle lost a lot of suction for me. you might want to try the mag port system, really amazing, Better fit. I have no affiliation with these guys, I just love the stuff. Have you run a single 20 inch wide board or two 10 inch boards through at once? I’m wondering if a lighter cut will help reduce chips, too. Also, is your planer spiral or straight knife? I’m going for some tersa blades. My neighbors are not going to be happy with noise so I’m working on some noise control, too.

You'll get a huge increase in CFM if you use less flex hose. What you're running is quite extreme, just so you know.

Would have been interesting to see how dirty the filter was after you finished. Assuming you did not clean it during the planing session?

Thanks for the video. Were you emptying based on the bin fill sensor, or just checking periodically? Do you have a table saw? I'd be very interested in how it does--specifically whether it is able to collect both from above the blade and below. (it seems like it might do very well if dedicated for a blade guard collection)
@benjaminrichards6858
@benjaminrichards6858 3 жыл бұрын
I have a contractors saw and it does decently well collecting from the bottom. I think it could handle a 4" tube on bottom and a 1" or 2" on top but that would be interesting to try.

How is the sound on the supercell? I'm a bit worried it could be a nuisance compared to the low pitches hum of a traditional DC
@benjaminrichards6858
@benjaminrichards6858 3 жыл бұрын
@guitarchitectural it's loud IMO. Not super loud, but louder than a shop vac and I always wear hearing protection when I run it.
@guitarchitectural
@guitarchitectural 3 жыл бұрын
@@benjaminrichards6858 yeah I looked up the dba and it's 80! My current DC is 62 and my festool vac is 72. I've also heard that one of the bigger noise issues with the supercell is when you have a small port, the noise of the air getting sucked into the small opening is incredibly loud
@danervin2530
@danervin2530 3 жыл бұрын
It really sounds like a shop vac on steroids. It’s loud, no getting around it. That is my only nagging complaint. Even the price I have long since forgotten about. Excellent unit.

I have an 18bx in order and am looking at upgrading my dust collection so I appreciate your video. Any chance you’ve done a comparison without dust collection hooked up just to see how much dust you’re actually picking up?

That part with those 9v batteries is very cool. Random batteries coming in, one robot puts them very quickly in a randomly orrientated row, and the next robot knows the random orrientation and picks the whole row up. Must be fun to program :)

*Wink wink* It doesn't matter, if your job can be automated, it will be soon. On the other hand, robots and humans should live together in cooperation. But, you know, the XX° century left us with that super horrible mind of "Get as much as you can and don't even remotely think about the others"
