Какой мощности должен быть этот лазер, чтобы его было видно вместе с другими приборами ?
@RobertKoszewski5 ай бұрын
The one in the video has 1w (Total) and it is visible with the other lights at full power. But even for lower power lasers (Like the rotating one), you can always make the beams visible by dimming all the other lights.

Depends on what you want to do with it. Do you want to do it as a hobby? To aid your DJing or are you interested in becoming a lightning engineer? In my case, I got COVID during the amazing COVID times, but I was feeling fine, stuck at home and in party mood, so I bought 2x Mega Hex Par, 1x Laser world EL (The spinning light) and got myself a cheap USB2DMX interface and started messing around with SoundSwitch. It's a lot of fun. Great as a hobby and for DJing. There is also open source software that you can get for free, so as long as you get yourself a cheap DMX compatible light and a cheap USB2DMX device, you're good to go. If you want to go serious business, then it gets a bit more expensive with stuff like GrandMA and such.. but that's software and hardware you'll see in real light and music events. Feel free to ask me any questions you have, and I'll try to respond to them as good as I can. If you feel curious or passionate about this, go for it! And never give up!!

Thank you for the kind feedback! :) It's all a matter of time, and it very much depends on what you want to achieve with this. The auto-scripting is quite nice and fast if you just want to make a lightning setup to make people dance (With some manual adjustments). In my case it's a casual hobby, and I like the artsy aspect of it, so I usually do these from scratch, but I don't think that it's a sustainable approach to do that for every song, if you're planning to do this professionally. In any case, I wish you good luck on your journey! :)

Hi Is it possible to write the bride's first names properly with this laser? at the moment I have a cs 1000 mk3 but the writing is really not great for weeding.
@RobertKoszewski11 ай бұрын
That depends on the size of the text you want to project. I don't have the CS 1000 MK3, but it should be capable to project text. How well it will do depends on the complexity of the letters (There are more optimized fonts for lasers and less suitable ones), the size of your projection and the stepper motor speed. I'd suggest you try to make the projection size much smaller and if the text is still distorted slow down the stepper motor (kpps) till it stops being distorted. Find the right balance between size and the kpps speed that does not distort and is readable. The higher kpps that the laser is capable of, the more complex text you'll be able to project without strobing or distorting. Also, I'm assuming you're trying to project only text, the more complex the projection, the harder it will be for the laser to project what you want and compromises need to be found.

Great video. Which dmx-usb connector do you use?
@RobertKoszewski11 ай бұрын
I'm using the "SoundSwitch Micro DMX USB interface". I also have a FreeDMX compatible USB interface, but it's extremely jerky with SoundSwitch (As if they crippled all non SoundSwitch interfaces on purpose). So if you plan to use SoundSwitch, I can only recommend the original "SoundSwitch Micro DMX USB interface".

Thank you very much mate. One more question, do you know of any software that works well with this laser? Excluding soundswitch =) @@RobertKoszewski
@RobertKoszewski11 ай бұрын
@@alejandroibanezcasasnovas9187 DMX is extremely simple. Pretty much any DMX controller/software will work fine with this laser. But if you want full control of your laser, use the ILDA interface. I had to request a special Profile for this laser from the Soundswitch devs to be able to do the things I need (And it's extremely Hacky). ILDA is the way to go if you want to make full use of the laser.

Did you use any smoke/haze machine prior to, or during filming this video? I have recently purchased the EL-400RGB MK2 and am super frustrated with it, because can't see the beams, even in total darkness. Hopefully, the laser isn't faulty and smoke/haze will resolve the problem.
@RobertKoszewski Жыл бұрын
You can't see the laser beams without smoke/haze. I did indeed smoke up my place before making the video. Be careful with getting the laser into your eyes, especially without the haze. The El-400RGB has enough power to damage the eye sight, I highly recommend reading up on laser safety before doing anything with the laser.
@superveloce9807 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your swift reply. At least I can rest assured that my unit isn't faulty. Would you recommend any particular smoke/haze machine for home use (I'm not a pro)? From what I heard, a haze machine is better solution than a smoke machine to make the most of your laser's performance. @@RobertKoszewski
@RobertKoszewski Жыл бұрын
@@superveloce9807 I haze machine is basically a smoke machine that throws a small but continuous amount of smoke through time. A smoke machine throws a big cloud right away, that then dissolves with time. I have a "Ibiza Light LSM1200PRO Professional 1200W Fog Machine", which is quite an overkill most of the time but it also never let me down no matter the size of the room. If this is your first time and you don't want to spend much money, the 400watt ones are fairly cheap and should be more than enough to get the laser going. Just when you make the cloud, give it some time to disperse in the room and you'll have the best effect. But again, be super careful with the laser and eyes.

Can you point this laser at crowd?
@RobertKoszewski Жыл бұрын
The short answer is no. It's a Class 3+ laser so it's not safe to point at the crowd. That said with the right equipment, schooling/certifications and following the pertinent laser safety guidelines it should be. But I'd suggest consulting that with a certified laser operator to be sure (I'm not one).

@RobertKoszewski Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I have the Laserworld DS 1000 capped to the minimum strength I was able to get out of it without having the colors distorted. This is on purpose as I usually use this laser in small rooms, and I also didn't want to overshine that other Laserworld laser that is Class 2 (The starfield one that is able to rotate only). But at full power it is way stronger.

@@enajv Coloring, pattern selection and positioning was all manually timecoded by me to sync with the music as I had in mind. But the patterns itself are the ones that were shipped with the laser (You can install custom patterns on the laser, but I didn't have time to tinker with that part yet, as I just purchased this laser recently). I do have a video where I was testing the laser in demo mode, which runs at full power: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXuleJmXqsuGobc (Single beams are even stronger with this laser, but they are super dangerous to get them in the eyes!! Only use this laser with really good laser safety glasses!!)
