Never been that far east directly from Stanhope before (went as far as Wolsingham). Thanks for the video and never knew there was a castle there! Bloody hell that's amazing.

Joiners Arms (Nimmo's 4X anyone?), Bridge End before it was opened up to one room, the Fighting Cocks (Vaux), Lloyds Bank isn't where it used to be, Timothy White and Taylor chemist, Queens Head (Rosies to those that knew!). Palace cinema (one of two in Chester-le-Street and probably the flea pit for Saturday morning kid's matinees). At least the Post Office and library are in the same place!

Hi there you need to park on the side road nearby, then walk on the main road for 10 mins, before cutting through a forest and up a small hill, but any decent hiker could do it. From the side road it took me about 20 mins in total. Beautiful countryside so well worth it.

Nice one. I flew my drone over that last year. I fancy going back there again and getting a closer look. Is it easy to walk to?

This place used to be so, so nice years ago. Full of character and appeal. There was foliage everywhere, and there were several fountains. It's soulless now. Half of the shops are shut now too.

I love Northumberland. It's one of Britain's great unsung areas. It has more castles than any other county in England, yet is often forgotten.
@TeamCGS20059 ай бұрын
Thanks for this. Yes I too didn't know you could climb up the middle of Grey's monument. It's interesting to note but I can tell that this isn't very old due to how even the steps going up are. In medieval times for purposes of defence the steps tended to be purposefully uneven. The reason for this is so that the attacker who was moving upwards was disadvantaged when it came to their footing, though I can see that it moves up in a clockwise direction which again was for defensive reasons; reason being that most soldiers were right-handed and to move upward in a clockwise direction meant that they could only hold and swing their weapon with their weaker left hand.

It's definitely worth a visit. And not that expensive well. I did a package where I went there then had a 2 course meal at banyan after 😊

Please delete this video because you don’t have permission to film people walking around the Metrocentre
@FateBoost11 ай бұрын
Nope, it’s a publicly accessible area so you have no implied right to privacy. The only restriction that applies is the owner of the complex (or a representative) or any individual shops can revoke your right of implied access Per Met Police: “Members of the public and the media do not need a permit to film or photograph in public places” Similarity ofcom guidelines for journalists state: Generally, you will not need to obtain the express consent of random people that are merely passing by or who are caught on camera in the background, unless they are to be shown in a negative or pejorative context, thereby requiring consent or the concealing of identities, for example by pixilation. So in short, unless you are in the changing room at H&M or the toilets, there’s nothing you can do about it. If you don’t want to be identified, wear a face covering like auditors themselves do (not saying the uploader is one)
@joeybev1610 ай бұрын
That is true if you read the customer code of conduct it states clearly you need a permit to record video on the mall and we have a right to tell you to stop recording as its private property
@FateBoost10 ай бұрын
@@joeybev16 You aware this is a U.K. shopping centre, not an American mall, right? Different laws apply.
@joeybev1610 ай бұрын
@@FateBoost yes i am aware of the rules while the law says you don't need permission the centre customer rules dictate very clearly you need permission to film within the centre and yes I am right when I said mall as each sector of the centre is called a mall e.g red mall
@waynejohnson50811 ай бұрын
This person should get permission to film the whole of the Metrocentre and should have permission to film people walking around, clearly you need permission to film people around the malls
@FateBoost11 ай бұрын
Not in the U.K. Implied right to be recorded if you are in a public or publicly accessible space. Metro centre also can’t make you stop recording - there only right is to trespass you from the property. U.K. doesn’t require 2 party consent to video.
