In terms of newer movies, I thought 'Nope' was pretty scary solely because the alien in that disturbed me so much. And I don't find movie monsters scary at all, but I guess it's scarier when it's more abstract and unfamiliar? I find robots to be a little scary for some reason, I thought 'I, Robot' was freaky as a kid. Idk but great video!

Da-doo I was walkin' in the wholesale flower district that day Shoop, da-doo And I passed by this place where this old Chinese man Chang, da-doo He sometimes sells me weird and exotic cuttings Snip, da-doo 'Cause he knows, you see, that strange plants are my hobby Da-da-da-da-da, da-doo He didn't have anything unusual there that day Nope, da-doo So I was just about to, ya know, walk on by Good for you When suddenly, and without warning There was this total eclipse of the sun It got very dark And there was this strange humming sound Like something from another world Da-doo And when the light came back, this weird plant was just sitting there Whoopsy-doo Just, you know, stuck in, among the zinnias Audrey Two I coulda sworn it hadn't been there before But the old Chinese man sold it to me anyways For a dollar ninety-five Sha-la-la, la-la-la La-la-la, doo-doo

the more you watch, the less scary the movies are. that being said i still feel the creepy atmosphere to be awesome. Movies like midsommer and longlegs aren't super scary but really hit some great vibes and motifs. Also the way you watch really matters. Go to the theater with dolby and a curved screen. Get your popcorn and stuff and go with some friends. It'll be way more fun than the 3am phone watches. Here's a couple I thought were scary. The taking of deborah logan (phenominal movie really i highly recommend), it follows (not so many jump scares), smile (too many jump scares imo), Alien (best in the series imo), The conjuring 1-2/annabelle 1-2 a couple i just like in general: midsommer, the autopsy of jane doe, longlegs, annihilation, it part 1, fear street part 2, barbarian, the invisible man

okay if a 14 yo doesn't find Hereditary and Insidious scary, they are either lying or they felt protected because you and his friend were there, for these movies to unfold their whole potential they need to be watched alone in a dark room with good headphones or in the best case a dolby surround system :)

Martyrs, seven, funny games, incident in a ghost land, inside, climax, irreversible, audition, possum, videodrome, Jacob's ladder, threads, I saw the devil. You'll find that the scariest films tend to tread more towards thrillers and realism than any Boogeyman out in the woods. I've always felt like thrillers are way scarier than horror films.

You know Faith was a vulnerable 17 year old girl named Rachel, who Joseph plucked off the street, drugged and abused, and threatened to murder if she didn't play along, right? She freaks out at the end of her boss fight because she's terrified of what Joseph will do to her. John and Jacob are just a pair of sadistic bullies. They get off on hurting and breaking people down. And Joseph is a delusional control freak, with toxic attachment and abandonment issues. A Grade A+ narcissist and sociopath.

was at a dinner party like 20 years ago. and we were reading questions from this conversation book. and one question was which is scarier; Jaw or the Exorcist? and every woman (gay/straight) said Jaws and every guy (gay/straight) said the Exorcist. which always stuck with me.

I feel like when people say "That wasn't scary" they expect like gross out horror or a bunch of jumpscares. Honestly no movies are "scary", like other people said in the comments, chasing genuine fear in horror is just chasing that nostalgic rush of the first horror movie you ever saw. If I were to measure the scariest movie I've ever seen by how many hours I remained scared afterwards, it would be Coraline because it was rated PG and my parents let me watch it when I was 8. I feel like that's why so many people say The Ring is the scariest movie ever too - it was PG13 so they watched it pretty young.

I dont know if this was mentioned in your video (I can't play it right now) but I always thought it was because studios want a PG 13 rating over R rated. Opening up the film to a wider audience means more butts in seats, which then means more money.

Horror movies these days are just predictable and generic. Older horror movies knew that atmosphere and tension and suspense are what makes it work.

It’s refreshing having such a cold and deadly villain, not bent on proving the audience that they’re the good guy. She knows who and what she is, and her drive will keep her going to complete her goals.

This is why I love the Far Cry series so much, because it really touches up on the really heavy/horrible things which actually do happen around the world and even us as the player aren't the good guys. We think we are doing the right thing at the time, but in reality, we are just causing even more chaos and are just as bad as the villains in a sense. Look at Jason Brody for example, the guy who went to have a great holiday with friends, life wasn't really going anywhere and all he wanted to do was party and adventure (adrenaline junkie). At first he is genuinely shocked by his first kill but overtime he becomes more and more addicted to the idea of killing and is actually enjoying it. Which is terrifying to think about really. Now rookie/deputy wants to rescue their coworkers (friends) from the cult and believes they are doing the right thing, but in reality we're just as destructive. The thing that is very interesting to me, is that Vaas and Jason Brody acknowledge they have done horrible things. However Joseph Seed and Deputy both believe they are doing what is right throughout the whole game, not even stopping to think maybe there is a better way? Unfortunately I haven't played all through 2, 4 or 6 so I'm not sure about their storylines (I'm currently playing through 4 now). I can't remember much of 1

But yeah I get what you are saying it definitely flips everything on its head when compared to the other games in the franchise. And video games in general

what you fail to address or even mention when asking could batman exist in the real world is, how would batman hide who he is from the police in the real world, in todays world we can id people from their voice and even from how they speak and what words they use, we can id people from how they walk and move, these things are not easy to hide any time batman gets seen or some one captures him on video, experts and ai will review that footage over and over many times, a real life batman could never be rich yet alone be a billionaire, and besides armour and technology how much money would you need, after all the punisher is like a cheap batman and he gets by with almost nothing, batman could really exist but it would have to be someone like me and not a bruce wayne.

This came into my recommended after the new Absolute Batman comic came out. Do I believe canon earth prime Batman could exist? No, but Absolute Batman? It’s a far bigger possibility that he could exist. Tone down some things like the origami cape and I think that version of Batman definitely could exist in our world (let’s not take into account that comic writers have him at only 250lbs, based on his size he’d be like 300lbs+)

I do enjoy a villain that is reasonable and not hypocritical. There are villains that you love because of how much you hate them. But there are some that you love because they are genuinely too epic and we sympathize with.
