Your peperomia are lovely! I'm waiting on my scandens to come in! I like the green except variegated. And i also have the pepperomia ginny. New to indoor plants but i have about 35 and I'm going to get more! So calming and serene for me. Happy planting! June frome California

Gorgeous plants and they are all doing so well. I was not aware that snake plant can bloom in UK and its gloomy weather. Is it on a south facing window? I would like to bloom mine too now. That african violet is stunning and you got it for 50 p too. All the hoyas look great and the first one with all the flowers and the massive polyneura are all stunning!!

How do you care for your Hoyas? In soil? How often do you water them? I try to water when top 2 inches dry but I need to repot as they are drying out too fast
@Amysgreenishthumb
@Amysgreenishthumb 2 ай бұрын
I grow all mine in a well draining soil mix and water when soil is fully dry, and I add a little orchid fertiliser when I water them 😊 luckily most hoyas are pretty succulent so can handle drying out slightly but hopefully a repot helps, than you for watching 🥰🌿💚

Hello Amy, I never realised that F. Benjamina could be rooted in water, so I'm really keen to see your results. I can never grow it, it always drops its leaves and ends up like a bare Christmas tree in the corner, wherever I try placing it. I'm going to start microwaving my new soil before repotting now, because I'm so tired of fungus gnats and pests, what do you reckon to that idea? x 🌿
@Amysgreenishthumb
@Amysgreenishthumb 3 ай бұрын
Hi Marion! I didn’t know until I accidentally snapped off a piece and I’m glad it does 😂 I think it can be a very dramatic plant! Ours goes through leaf dropping phases about once a year, usually towards the end of summer. I have heard of microwaving or baking soil! I think the only thing to remember is that anything that kills off all the bad stuff in soil will also kill off the good so you’d need to replace the nutrients 😊 I’ve heard with fungus gnats you can sprinkle ground cinnamon on the top of your soil and they don’t like it, as well as letting your plants dry out a little more as they like damp soil 🌿 if you try the microwaving let me know how it goes! Thank you for watching 🥰🌿💚

From watching some bonsai videos, ficus Benjamina generally won’t back-bud so if you cut the stems below the leaves, it will usually just die off. But the top cuttings should do well.

Gorgeous plants! I’m envious of the fern, I admire them but just don’t have the humidity to keep them alive. As far as I know it’s only color that reverts when propagating Sans from leaves, not form. And cylyndrica and francisii are both species so they should propagate true in the plain green forms. In my (limited) experience francisii doesn’t bloom under stress…. At least, mine hasn’t bloomed after several years and I mistreat it pretty badly. 😅 it might be a sign that the plant is going to stop growing new leaves and start focusing on offsets, though. If that’s the case the offsets will probably aim to get larger than the mother plant so all is not lost - as long as you’re prepared for them to lie down, which this species is fond of doing.
@Amysgreenishthumb
@Amysgreenishthumb 3 ай бұрын
Thank you! I’d say this type of fern isn’t as sensitive as some but my flat is naturally humid and we’re usually running dehumidifiers so I can’t say for sure how it would cope in dryer conditions 😂 Ooh I really hope so with the francisii! I’d love to watch a little prop grow and I am in love with mature specimens that start lying down and putting off pups so fingers crossed maybe that’s what it wants to do!! Thank you for the info and for watching 🥰💚🌿

Is it a parlor palm? Not to sure on that. Palms are a struggle for spider mites in my part of the world but I've kept one I got from a coworker who got a multi plant gift planter that run its course and the plants needed seperate pottings to thrive or die. I keep her by a fan that is always running so the plant always has movement so nothing moves in on it, much like a palm in a breeze in nature. I then spray it down the first week of every month with Captain Jacks Dead Bug Brew --- from Lowe's but you can also find it online. Palms get moved on so quick indoors so I'm trying to stay ahead of the game with it. Best of luck! :)

Possibly! I’m not very knowledgeable on palms so when I look up images a lot of them look the same to me 🙈 that’s a good idea with the fan!! Currently keeping mine in our bedroom where there isn’t too many other plants and so far so good, just some crispy tips! Oh ive heard of captain jacks! I keep meaning to see if it’s available in the uk! Thank you for watching! 💚🥰🌿

Hello Amy and the suspiciously quiet Piper! Beautiful rotundiflora and fern. Hats off to successfully rescuing the park plant. You are a very brave propagator. I have a fairly large Sanseveria Fernwood that bloomed for 3-4 weeks. Wish I could send you pictures. Three spikes with lots of white blossoms.
