Hey - I am still seeing the record button on my Google Workspace account, but you got me curious and I went into my personal account (gmail, non-Workspace) and I do not see the same option there. So, I am wondering if the record function is limited to paid business accounts? Are you using a workspace account or a gmail acct?

I've been a GNotes lover for years. Now I'm back in college and relying heavily on handwritten notes,during long lectures and found GKeep works very well for this. Afterward, I slide the notes into a Google Doc, housed in a Google Drive folder, where I keep all my notes easily organized. Thx for the template suggestion! I just made one and it's gonna be a great time saver! 😊👍

Right on! That is a great use case! Curious, have you played around with Google Cursive at all? I've recently used it for note taking in meetings and it seems specifically crafted for handwritten notes. I'm on a chromebook so not sure how it works on other platforms and I'm still playing and learning about it, but check it out at cursive.apps.chrome/ and let me know what you think - curious if/how others are using it

awesome tip, is there anyway i could use it like to help me study and keep track of scheduling in google sheets? i currently make it something like this, i write the qeusiotn on one side and answer on the other side, i wish to track how many times ive revised and umm i think it would be nice to track when i would like to the next revision something like the anki does, im going to have to think a little bit lol really awesome tip tho thanks !

Hey! I just tested and was able to 1) insert a youtube video onto a slide, 2) do a speaker spotlight to record me on the screen at the same time and 3) was able to record the slide presentation. The recording saves to drive and there is a option in the set up of the recording to enable audio from the slide presentation, so that did enable me to present the video, with audio, and with an overlay of me reacting to the video in the recording. I might do a video on it - hadn't tested that, so thanks for the question! totally works!

How can I organize my drop downs so that they can all cluster by category? Ex: Instead of "sort sheet A-Z or Z-A, how can I get all my red items at the top, all the blues after that, etc... Is there a value to enter somewhere or is there a way to make a custom filter / sort? Thanks!

great question - so, sheets has the ability to sort by color, text color even in filtered views (check out the "sort by color" section on this page - support.google.com/docs/answer/3540681?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop#zippy=%2Csort-by-color) BUT i did a quick test and the color only keys off of the color of the cell/text color and doesn't appear to work with the color designations using the new smart chips functions. So, I'll ask around, but I don't think that the traditional way of sorting by color here to cluster by category by color works with the new drop downs unless you do an additional step to color the cell based on the drop down option selected! I'll dig on this a bit further - great question!

Weird I don't have this feature, not on chrome, not on firefox, nothing. Hover = no dropdown. Any thoughts on why? I cleared my cache.

The posted video is 6:31 long, but your Timestamps in the Description suggests this should be about a 16 minute video. I would love to see another 10 minutes of your thoughts on using keep notes. Do you do anything special with Notes for things in a Maybe Someday category? I would LOVE to hear more about your choices of what colors represent vs what labels represent. I am trying to apply Tiago Forte's PARA method of organization. Do you use PARA? If you move to it, please consider offering a video about how you applied PARA to Keep Notes. GMail allows Nested Labels, but I do not recognize how to do nesting with Keep's labels. Do your labels follow any kind of hierarchy or are they all on a flat/single level namespace? Thanks again.

that is a good question! so, I use "archive" + labels extensively in Google Keep to keep things de-cluttered. For example, during the day, I take a ton of notes and I have them in my landing page in Keep. Then, at the end of the day (or, more often... the next morning), I go through my notes. I add, delete, add labels/colors, and then I "archive" the ones that aren't in play or that I am working on. I then use search - or better yet - reminders to re-surface those notes when/where I need them. Think of it like zero inbox for Keep. I think of Keep as a intermediate step. Actually, I might just do a video on it quick, standby :)
