It's really cool that the alto and bass have the same part but doubled an octave apart from each other, and it's pretty cool that the tenor has the same part as the alto and bass, but it's a 4th lower than the alto and a 5th higher than the bass. Love the intervals on those three parts!

The song was written in 1992 as the theme song of a certain beauty pageant in Slovenia but it quickly became a national hit. It essentially talks about a man's fascination with a woman's beauty, with the main phrase focusing on the concept that there are 'little crocodiles' in her eyes that devour you when she gazes at you.

Anke und ich fahren heute Abend zum Konzert des Ensembles in der Bonnus Kapelle in Bersenbrück. Meine Skepsis im Zusammenhang mit der zu erwartenden Qualität hat sich nach Anhören der auf KZbin veröffentlichten Gesänge in's Gegenteil umgekehrt. Wir sind neugierig und freuen uns, dass wir Alexander und Ingelore heute vertreten dürfen. Danke Alexander! (Ich versuche, Teile des Konzertes zu dokumentieren und dann auf die bekannten Silberscheiben zu übertragen).

I am not offended that Rumi's words are sung in a chapel setting. His words were about the universality of love in marriage. Wonderful blend of voices.

Why would offense be an option at all? Art is an expression of the divine--the faith of the one who makes it is irrelevant. Brahms was an atheist, we still do his work regularly. Gesulado was a murderer.

Ich habe dieses Ensemble live erlebt am Karfreitag in der Essener Philharmonie, durchweg mit Werken der Vokalpolyphonie. Dieses Ensemble ist auf dem Weg zu Weltspitze.
