Best view of the unique aspect of a logging truck.trailer wheels follow the tractors rear tires. Blow most highway truckers mind.

Great video! You have a video setting up your triple chains ? And have to put them on the rack to use it again later?

To bad cell phones weren't around in the 60s-70s, I Google earth some old camps I mechaniced at and just see Alder trees, and the odd spar pipe, or Log loader boom, so much to be said, good old days, safety came from my hurt/dead fellows mistakes. Started my apprenticeship in a grease pit under Hayes Pacifics, KW 16 footers, even took the Sr. # Build plate off a Mack that Can for demo'd at Chehalis it was #2 , often have though " where is that truck, got to roar it around to wash it, grease it, load the trailer, back it into line for dealer to come get it, we put the 1st paint scuffs on it, hmm, just thought of our drunkest shop boss Al Storey, he ragged on me for making that 2 stroke joke V12 purr loudly that evening, he came up from his Worker house next to the Sasquatch Bar there at Harrison Mills.

Clear felling on the top? Nothing to stop the soils etc being washed down by heavy rains and washing out the gullies, creeks and infrastructure. Guess nature gets its own back.

3-4 times a day, chains on, chains off. 43 winters make you glad to be inside now when it snows.... I have no clue how many sets of chains I wore out. Cross links must be in the thousands. I really got tired of the 14-24 tires chaining up. I was glad to finally start driving highway trucks in 1980. And just like every other log truck driver, gets done hanging chains, he takes a leak, boy did that bring back memories....

why a guy wouldn't have stopped that truck a bit further back and unloaded his trailer right in front of that pile is beyond me. way faster than reachin way out and swinging all the way around.

5 minutes 😮😮😮 wow.....that's impressive and quiet fast eh....no one here wants To use chains and To be honest...l really dont know why exactly....i Guess we silently consider it like a big lost of time....instead we use rock n'roll attitude and prayers.....sometimes works sometimes doesnt ☹☹☹ being honest l would feel lot safer with chains some times......especially when the sand truck operator's a lazy coward!!! Thanks for the infos tho👍👍👍you guys be safe

You suck at loading. We allow ten minutes per trailer. And that's with 70-80 sticks. Pick up the pace. Time is money.

Great vid of how it is supposed to be done!!! Especially when you throw them over the tires. The tails probably not quite touching the ground so when you roll on them they will be as tight as you will need them and will stay tight!!! Also...having them as tight as possible is overrated! Some guys that chain up several times a day take the locks off and put another hook there. No bungees and no cam tighteners!!! Ever see a tire chain overheat and melt the rubber into the tire?
