These tribute bands should be called parody bands...there's something sad about watching him actually dress up like Johnny, and imitate his voice...the hankie on the guitarists head, the spiked mullet on the drummer...come on guys...

I'll be honest and say I'm funny about tribute bands, I will always go to see an original band as a preference but If there's nothing I'd prefer on, I will go and see a tribute band and these were fantastic, they played music we all enjoyed and it was a good night, do I wish venues would book more original band gigs? Yes of course, as that is how the music and punk scene continues but let's be honest, they make more money from cover bands, so I sadly understand why they don't, but I also think these were fantastic, I had a wonderful night and so did many others, I wouldn't usually share a cover band to my KZbin channel and I won't be doing it often but I enjoyed them that much I thought, why not, you are entitled to your opinion but I think you're wrong, if you don't enjoy them don't watch the video, put simply, they're a band doing something that they enjoy and other fans enjoy, it's all just a bit of fun and there's nothing wrong with that.

If you knew what youre on about then youd know the singer is friends with Lydon and approves their band, he was also the singer for Jah Wobble & Keith Levene doing original music aswell. The whole point of a tribute act is to imitate the best, fair enough YOU dont like it, but just remember if it wasnt for tribute bands/cover bands alot of music venues would be closing down to lack of attendance.! I used to have a venue myself and tribute bands bring in more people so you have to profit on it and give the people what they want, its the way the world has gone now because original music gets more difficult to make, almost everything has been done and we dont get bands like The Who, Jam, Dire Straits, Led Zepplin anymore, You dont have to support tribute bands but dont slag them off because they're keeping venues active and without them you wouldnt have the luxury of seeing as many original bands as you do now.

@@SPExJR Sure, but just play their music...I've gone to see a lot of cover bands, and tribute band too...there are a lot of bands whose music I love to hear live (such as the bands you mentioned)...but when they do the whole thing of trying to 'look' like them, rather than just play their music, it crosses the line from 'tribute to 'pastiche'...just play the songs...the audience don't need to need to be sold the illusion that they're somehow listening to the real band...sorry, I just find it very odd that the bands need to do that

@eldoroonie the point of a tribute band is to look like the real thing hence the name tribute. they're a good thing because most people haven't had the chance to see the sex pistols or bands like that who are no more so they provide people with the next best thing and it's an honour as the drummer for this band to play for people who want the nearest thing to the actual pistols. And the spiked mullet is my actual hair cut, not just for the band. And me, the guitarist and bassist are all in our own original bands on the side

@SPExJR 6 ай бұрын
@eldoroonie fair enough, I get some of your points and I know ow it's not for everyone, though, the difference between a covers band and a tribute should be cleared this way, a covers band gears up however they like and covers songs of multiple bands, a tribute goes to the length of going all out, gear, looks and music of 1 artist. I prefer original music but sadly I don't think we'll be around to see another 70s and 80s blast again where we had gold after gold on the wireless and the delight of top of the pop's, now its full of stale copy and repeated computer regeneration music, I don't like it at all but the kids do and I have to live in the past forever when it comes to music, although the odd tune comes out that's okay. What I'm not a fan of is tribute bands that do bands that come out yesterday so to speak, what's the point in tributing Ed sheeran and kazabian for example. So for me if you see before hand the group you're about to see geared up and made the effort to look as close as they can I can only applaud the effort, I'd be very disappointed if I went to watch meatloaf and their singer was skinny and bald, in essence the purpose of it all is to bullshit yourself for a couple of hours and believe it's real like we do when we watch marvel super hero movies but more importantly try to have a harmless fun night out and meet like minded fans who can't see the real thing anymore while saving a few quid. I'm a huge fan of rammstein, 2002 I paid 20 pounds to see them live, now you're looking at about 500 quid so it's no wonder some people opt for the alternative but it's just a bit of fun for some of us.
