Always one of ex's and my favourite "bedtime" tunes, it just has the right rhythms and swirling swoopiness... we WERE very stoned at the time :)

Bought this LP way back in 79 when serving in RAF in Cornwall, was "taped" to enable it to be played in car..loved it ever since.. The original vinyl is safely stored away... Nice one.

Great song, great concepts... "… the religion of God is described as the Holy City or the New Jerusalem. Clearly, the New Jerusalem which descends from heaven is not a city of stone and lime, of brick and mortar, but is rather the religion of God which descends from heaven and is described as new." ~ Baha'i Faith

Thank you so much for uploading this fantastic old favourite. It reminds me of someone who's very dear to me - now as well as back in 1979. But shouldn't it be "Ynys" instead of Ynnis?

I bought the LP in 1978 ('Crystal Machine' came out in '77...). Then I bought the CD 20 years later. In 1999, I saw Tim perform solo on Hawkwind's 30th anniversary show in London. Lemmy was there of course, and Simon House played a live gig, but no nude dancing Stacia...instead, Samantha Fox appeared on stage - with her clothes on... ;-)

There's someone out there...;-) I mailed Tim once some ten years ago, in France where he was living. I bought his then new CD, 'The tide of the century', directly from him, I think. Same with Serge Blenner, the Frenchie living in Hamburg. Old faves of mine...I loved almost all things Sky (the now defunkt Hamburg record company), except Downliner's Sect...
@dimethaltryptamine13 жыл бұрын
Oh god no!! Samantha Fox destroyed 'Silver Machine' & Lemmy who sang it on all other recordings was left on the side bench! I've heard him speak on this & he wasn't happy!

I was there for the 79 performance at Glastonbury - my first visit to the festival. Was a great performance from Tim blake, closing the festival on the sun (if my memory serves me well). Lasers and white weather balloons on quite a misty night sky. fantastic night. Thanks for uploading.

If you were really there, it's doubtful your memory serves you well. ;-) Remember Steve Hillage on Saturday night? Mother Gong sometime during one of the days? The Scrumpy truck arriving, selling cheap, cloudy beverage which stank of rotten eggs and was very conducive to conversation. And Tim Blake, of course. Good times had by all.

Rememdering Glastonbury 79 or early 80s and seeing this with one of the first outdoor laser shows. A beam was reflected into space from an angled mirror on the Tor. Making me cry just thinking about it. Peace to my brothers and sisters in this big universe. We will build a new Jerusalem on this sacred land and beyond where spirit lies

@pliwen49386 жыл бұрын
I listened to it for the first time in 1980, on the radio, one winter late in the afternoon. I lived then in a place that, along with this song, conveyed many images of cold, peaceful yet energetic natural grounds, like those that surrounded my childhood home, although I was unable for many years to find out who was the artist behind this music. All that time I was always watchful of the radio to try to find anything about it when I heard the song by chance Then, in 1992 I finally got word of who was, and in 1994 I got the CD and listened to the song everywhere, especially in remote haunting places like those I use to go and explore. And, last but not last, thanks for the beautiful imagery on your video.

I was blasting this through a mega speaker system & his other song from the album 'The New Age' from my balcony in Paddington onto one of Sydney's busiest streets when the album 1st came out in '77 I raced for Moonweed's new offering on the 'Crystal' Machine & upon listening decided everyone MUST hear it ;)
