Beautiful photo capturing puffins lurking in the grass. Would love to see a follow-up video of the moment they take flight. The columnar coast is stunning too.👍

Hi guys nice video I was on the afternoon trip on Lady Jane then saw you down at Craignure when I was watching Otters next to the Campsite. We move on to Fort William and we’re booked on Loch Shiel Cruises for more Sea Eagles and Osprey then onto Loch Lomond for the Aurora of a lifetime.

Ahh!! nice to see you here! It was good to meet you. Hope you had a great trip and are still on your travels😀

Aah! No sadly we’re now back home in Cambridge ! But it was great to see that you actually saw three otters at Craignure it just goes to show that you just have to be in the right place at the right time, the one I lost sight of, I decided not to drag my butt over those rocks to hunt it and left it to rest in peace.

Great shots. Could you share your setting on the R7 and how you machined to track the owl in video and also for light shots. I find the R7 jumps in and out of focus in video mode for moving targets like birds. Thanks
@nwgphotography9 ай бұрын
Thanks. I'm quite new to the video side of it. Never really tried it when I had dslrs, so everything's in automatic mode in terms of shutter speed, aperture and iso. In the focus settings I have subject tracking on, animal detect and eye tracking enabled. I found it did a fairly good job of keeping the owl in focus but it did lose it a few times

Some wonderful video and stills. Do you have your R7 on 30fps burst ! ? I tend to get better results with the electronic 1st curtain at 15fps.
@nwgphotography10 ай бұрын
Yeah I've been using 30 fps. Haven't had a situation where rolling shutter's been an issue yet. But I can see it being a problem with faster (and closer) subjects. I've seen some really bad examples in some people's shots and worry that I'll ruin that once in a life time, diving kingfisher shot or something! 😬. Have you seen many issues?

3000 dollars is not cheap. But for this hobby, the rf 200-800 mm and Canon R7 is a killer combo. Thank you for so effectively demonstrating that. Well done.
@nwgphotography10 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching John. I'm using the Ef 100-400 mk2. I haven't got the funds to upgrade to an RF lens yet, but not sure that I will as I love the quality and the combination as it is 😀

! Hello my dear friend, please tell me how on Canon R7, is it possible to make a test frame in video mode? (take a picture) without changing the settings, without taking a video or switching to photo mode? I mean, when you've set everything up, but you're not taking it off yet. Thanks to everyone who will help. I can't find how to do it... .
@nwgphotography10 ай бұрын
Hi, I'm sorry I don't know if that's possible or if so how to do it. I'm quite new to the video side of things and currently just use the automatic settings. Hope someone else might be able to answer for you.
