Although he wasn't in the comic that much either, I really do wish they had kept the Skull Cowboy for the simple fact that it would have made the story line a bit clearer of what exactly Eric's mission was and why he lost his powers when he went to save Sarah. Cause the whole, "kill the crow, destroy the man" was ok but looking back it didn't make as much sense cause they didn't kill the Crow they just wounded it but he still lost his powers. Then gained them back when Top admitted he sent the gang. They want to give us a new Crow movie; fine. Clean up these scenses re-edit with the original story line for the movie; that Eric is on a mission and can't stray from that mission to care for the living but he does and that's why he becomes mortal again and only regains his power when Top admits he had a hand in it. There you go. Perfect.

That extra shot of hand with a bullet hole looked awesome

With everything that followed since, the only remake/re-release/reboot etc of the Crow should be the original with AI adding in the Skull Cowboy and deleted scenes for an extended directors cut. Fitting that the original was completed with special effects that the whole vision of The Crow 1994 could be finalised in the same way.
