What if the speaker doesn't have audio out. Can I just join the wires together
@pureresonanceaudio2 ай бұрын
Yes, if the speaker doesn’t have an audio output or passthrough, you can splice the wires to connect to another speaker. Just be sure to follow good electrical practices, considering that wattage is electricity. Always keep positive to positive and negative to negative, and ensure your connections are secure to avoid any issues with sound quality or potential electrical hazards. If you’re uncomfortable with electrical work, it’s always a good idea to consult a professional to ensure everything is done safely.

Thanks for your video!! Was hoping you would've spoken to speakers with only 2 terminals as opposed to the 4 terminals speakers in your example. My assumption is that I simply go with with a red lead in and out of the same positive terminals and a black wire out and then in of the negative terminal. Just not sure as this is my first 70Volt system. Thanks for any guidance brother!
@pureresonanceaudio2 ай бұрын
You're absolutely correct! For a speaker with 2 terminals in a 70V system, you would run the red (positive) wire into the positive terminal of the speaker, and then out of that same terminal to the next speaker. The same goes for the black (negative) wire, connecting it to the negative terminal.

In this video, Andrew demonstrates all the necessary steps for connecting 70-volt speakers, apart from simply plugging the amplifier into an outlet and turning it on. Most passive 70V speakers only require connection to an amplifier to function. For more details, you can check out these two videos that might help clarify things further: - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6G1aKmNiMeAhassi=2x0nxXUkryriIVgC - kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2XXdalomruMg9ksi=nRUjle00Q5y7gD80 I hope this is helpful!

We apologize for any confusion! We understand that the title and the way Andrew discusses the topic might seem a little different, but they are both approaches to addressing the same issue. Calculating speaker wattage for your amplifier depends on a few factors, including the number of speakers you're using and the specifications of your amplifier. i have a shop with noisy machines that run all day. Do any of your systems offer the ability to record/duplicate the frequency output by my machines and output a reverse frequency to "quiet" the room?
@pureresonanceaudio2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your question! It sounds like you're thinking of phase or noise cancellation. Our sound masking systems are primarily designed for speech privacy and enhancing productivity in environments like offices. They typically operate in the 40-60 decibel range, so if your machines are loud, unfortunately, sound masking won't effectively reduce that noise. However, you could consider using absorptive panels or finding ways to block or wall off the sound for better results. I have speaker box which originally came with a 20watt 4ohm speaker, can I replace it with a 150w(80w nom) 4ohm speaker?
@pureresonanceaudio4 ай бұрын
It depends on whether there's a built-in crossover inside your speaker cabinet. If there is, replacing the original 20W 4-ohm speaker with a 150W speaker could cause issues. The crossover is designed for the original speaker's power rating, and increasing the wattage might lead to performance problems or even damage to the components. If you're not sure about the internal design, it might be best to stick with a replacement speaker that matches the original wattage or consult with a professional for guidance.
@Hicky334 ай бұрын
What is a crossover? This box has 2 satellite speakers (midrage and tweeter), what I am replacing is the subwoofer.
@pureresonanceaudio3 ай бұрын
@@Hicky33 A crossover is an electronic component that splits the audio signal into different frequency ranges, directing the low frequencies to the subwoofer. When replacing the woofer, it's important to choose one that closely matches the original specifications to ensure optimal performance. If you're unsure, it's always best to consult the speaker manufacturer for guidance.

What is the requirement on the speaker i will use, do i need to put 70v matching transformer for 10watts speaker in parallel connection?
@pureresonanceaudio4 ай бұрын
Most 70V speakers come with a built-in transformer, allowing you to select the appropriate tap setting for your needs. You’ll usually find a dial or a series of color-coded wire leads for this purpose. If you have a traditional 8-ohm speaker without a built-in transformer, you can add a 70V matching transformer. However, it’s recommended to have a trained professional or electrician handle the installation to ensure everything is set up correctly and safely.

Calculate the speaker's coverage diameter first, then calculate spacing based on how much overlap is desired. Calculate the speaker’s coverage area: D=2*(H-h)*tan(A/2) D = Diameter of the coverage area H = Ceiling height h = Ear height A = Speaker coverage angle (found in specs) Example: If the speaker has an 80° angle of coverage, your ceiling height is 4 meters, and the listeners typical ear height is seated at 1.2 meters, the following would give you your coverage area: D=2*(H-h)*tan(A/2) D=2*(4-1.2)*tan(80/2) D=2*(2.8)*tan40 D=5.6*0.839 D=4.7 meters Calculate the distance between speakers: There are three main types of speaker coverage patterns for PA systems; Edge to Center, With Overlap, and Edge to Edge. For almost all circumstances it is normally the client’s choice for Edge to Edge as it requires the least number of speakers. Edge to Edge Coverage: This is the largest spacing between speakers for proper coverage. This is typical of most PA systems for cost savings. Formula: D=2*r D = Distance r = Radius The result of the formula for edge to edge spacing is the same result as the first formula. 2 times the radius is the diameter. So in the case of most public spaces, just go with the coverage pattern diameter as your guide for how far to space speakers apart.
@pureresonanceaudio4 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing this detailed information! You're absolutely right that there are complex calculations that can be used. We have found that a straightforward approach to spacing speakers based on the ceiling height, budget, and sound level needs is often sufficient for most clients. The formula you provided is excellent for those who want to dive deeper into the calculations. Thanks again for this contribution!

Super helpful - I'm using this to design our space. Thank you! I'm not sure what speaker diameter to choose though. Our ceilings are not super high - about 120" from floor to speaker. It'll mainly be for background music, but I don't want it to sound bassless. We MAY want the option to turn up the music some evenings for a different vibe too, but nowhere close to a night club level because we have tenants above us.

16 gauge wire? Seriously?
@pureresonanceaudio4 ай бұрын
16 gauge wire is commonly used in 70V commercial installations. One of the advantages of a 70V system is the cost savings on copper wire. However, for high amp loads or low impedance setups, you might need to consider using a higher gauge wire for better performance and safety. If you have any more questions or need further information, we are here to help!

This makes no sense to me. The speakers are "in" the ceiling. How am I running a wire to it.
@pureresonanceaudio4 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment! I understand that ceiling installations can be confusing. Here’s a step-by-step explanation: 1. Mount or Install the Speaker: First, secure the speaker in the ceiling where you want it. 2. Run the Cable: Next, run a cable from your audio source up a wall and into the ceiling space. 3. Connect to the Speaker: Navigate the cable through the ceiling to the speaker location and make the terminal connections as shown in the video. If you need assistance, a local handyman or electrician should be able to help with the installation.

Hi, do you happen to know how to connect the JBL Stage L260C to a fosi audio BT20A? I think the Fosi only has 2 sets of outputs so that is that but how do I connect that to my JBL?
@pureresonanceaudio8 ай бұрын
You're correct that the Fosi Audio BT20A has stereo left/right outputs, while the JBL Stage L260C is a single speaker and can not provide a stereo experience. To achieve stereo sound with the BT20A, you'll need another L260C speaker to connect one as your right speaker and one as your left. Connecting just one L260C to the BT20A will give you either left-only or right-only audio. Adding a second L260C speaker will allow you to experience true stereo sound. Here is a link to the Fosi Audio BT20A manual for additional guidance: cdn.shopifycdn.net/s/files/1/2251/7913/files/BT20A_Updated_User_Manual.pdf Hope this helps clarify the setup for you!

Hi, I have a question I use mogami Gold stage XLR to XLR cables for my powered Bose speakers. Studio and stage XLRs I meant.
@pureresonanceaudio9 ай бұрын
Hey there! It's generally safe to daisy chain XLR cables from one powered speaker to another, but keep in mind that too many connections could cause some signal degradation. To avoid this, it's best to limit it to one or two chains at most. If you need to connect more speakers, you may want to consider using a distribution amplifier. I hope this helps!

for speaker RMS 50 watt u can use between power amp 50 to 100 watts.
@pureresonanceaudio11 ай бұрын
For a 70V application, you first multiply your taps by the number of speakers and then multiply that number by 20% (or 1.2). For example, if you have (2) 70V speakers tapped at 50 watts, that math would look like this: 50W x 2 = 100W 100W x 1.2 = 120W Therefore, your amplifier would need to have a minimum of 120 watts.
@pureresonanceaudio11 ай бұрын
@@rifin2010 You want to remember your 20% headroom. So, with (1) speaker tapped at 50 watts, you'd want a minimum of 60 watts for your amplifier.
