It’s so painful that your guru Michael doesn’t inform the people about the masterclass costs. There is usually a $200 PER PERSON PRICE to attend the event. So it’s not a free included benefit. Get your facts straight.

The Wynn Masterclass Series (now Connoisseur Series) is a tier benefit for Wynn Rewards Platinum and Wynn Rewards Black Card. I have gone on the record many times saying this is one of the best benefits of Platinum, which is a relatively easy status level to obtain; further, last year, Wynn did a tier match where people had an opportunity to match to Wynn Platinum relatively easily. ~michael

@ my apologies with my previous statement. I have a Wynn black card (earned organically and not the bs way) and they told me it would be $200+ each person to attend the events. I was under the assumption (being the almighty Wynn) that by providing my name that they would look up my card status. Well they did not. Upon emailing my host she said that I was indeed entitled to four (04) classes for two (02) complimentary. The concierge just dropped the ball. So…..I apologize and yes you are correct. ALTHOUGH, I do disagree with a lot you shill for, but this was not one of them. I’ll be at Wynn this weekend 17-18 if you’d like to hear my honest feelings about your podcast.

@@dovebar7598 thank you for the message. One thing I know we both agree on is sharing accurate details, especially since there is a lot of inaccurate info out there. I also do agree that I personally probably come across as a "shill" for Wynn Las Vegas. I prefer to say FanBoy, but I do understand your point of view. With that being said, a lot of this show is based on my personal experiences and feelings about luxury and casino properties globally. On a commercial side, we do not get compensated directly for commentary in any way by Wynn Las Vegas or any casino property. TravelZork Travel does earn commission for any hotel/resort bookings in Las Vegas (and globally) but the commission is the same for all properties. So, there really is not a preference, unless, of course, our preference is someone booking an expensive suite with TZT since the higher the priced accommodations, the better the compensation. But, of course, our recommendations to clients need to be "decent," or the clients won't book with us again - it's a competitive marketplace. ( travelzork.travel/vegas-experts/ ) On the casino loyalty side, I feel nobody is perfect. Wynn Rewards has a lot of good aspects, and some not so great - comparatively, I still feel it's a rather strong program -- but, I also agree that Wynn is less generous than Venetian/Palazzo and MGM Rewards in the current Vegas market. Wish I was going to be back in Vegas again, but unfortunately, won't be returning for a bit after this trip. But, would love to hear your candid commentary and am happy to connect offline. Just send an email to [email protected] with "Yo-11 feedback" in the subject area. ~michael

This doesn't even get into the Downtown Vegas war. I like to stay at Boyd properties (Pepsi stronghold) because of their mantra of Good food, good drink, good gamble even though I prefer coke over pepsi. Well actually I prefer beer over soda when in Vegas, so that's why I like Main Street Station. If I need soda I go to where they have Dr Pepper. Lol.

Thank you for the response! I'm normally a slot player. Although in recent years the games have gotten so tight and so volatile that they're unplayable. For that reason, I'll be focusing video poker on this trip. Pro tip: You can frequently find full pay VP pay tables at $1 denom on the strip by playing multi-line or spin poker and playing 1-line 5 credit.

I have an interesting question. I have an upcoming trip to Vegas where i'll be staying 2 nights at Wynn and 2 nights at Palazzo both on comp offers. This is only my first ever offer used at the V/P and my third at Wynncore. My budgeted bankroll won't be enough to support both players clubs, but it is enough for one. Should I focus almost all my action on one, and 'burn' the other or do my best to satisfy both while staying on budget? I like both properties equally so I have no strong preference.
@TravelZork
@TravelZork 2 ай бұрын
This is an excellent question @stevenlowe9807 -- There is NO perfect answer, but things to consider are "what is your future looking like? How many trips are you planning for 2025?" My "simple" answer is that since this is your first offer/trip at V/P you have to concentrate there - the marketing algo is "hot for you now." Also, consider the fact that (overall, broad stroke) V/P is going to "kick-off" better marketing offers than Wynn for similar action. For sure, you do NOT want to burn a first offer, if you desire to potentially come back. Strategically, some will say the way to "win" (or shall we say 'Wynn') is to burn offers. It's an interesting conversation, since if you can get a trip or two out of "strong play," and then "barely" play at the next two (trips), you are putting very little bankroll at risk. But, this needs to be a deeper conversation, also, are you AP or really just a recreational player looking for the best experiences, comp rooms etc. etc. Most are recreational players and NOT AP. Once again, a great conversation. So, if you go about this strategy, and "play harder and stronger" at V/P, you absolutely should NOT burn Wynn. I mean, if you desire to ever get future offers. Also, offers at Wynn are "conditional comp," which means they "say" (I have NEVER heard of it happening) that you need to play to your "level" or they can charge you for the stay. Once again, I've never heard of this happening, instead the "biggest fear" is getting "Marketing Restricted," which means even if you PLAY HARD in the future, you might not get offers. So, make sure you give Wynn some action. How much? Hard to say, but an easy metric would be (at least) 25% of the tier you did last trip. So, if you earned 2k Wynn Rewards Tier Points last trip, I would say you should at least play 500 tier points. Important: Algorithms change, policies change. The advice I give is based on (mostly) my personal experience and some friends. Very little with Casino Loyalty is a "guarantee," further there can be a lot of variation for larger players, slot dominant players, how many times you have played and the level you have been comp'ed. For Wynn, keep it safe, just do the play on ONE casino day. The easiest way to do that is on day two (2), from 7am to like 11PM. Then you don't have to worry about any "casino day" wonkiness.

@@parman6262 I would give the counter-point that Wynn is very protective of their product for COMP. I just went to a (big) conference at Resorts World, I would argue that Convention Business is huge for them. Wynn skews towards "higher end" consistent play (and tier earning). One thing you'll love about Resorts World is that the drink/cocktail service in high limit is stellar. One of the best, if not the BEST.

Great topic here. Agree with getting longer day of play in at one property to maximize the ADT. Maybe another episode sometime on video poker would be good and how it differs from slots in theo-loss and comps/offers. Lots more coin in needed with VP but has less variance.
@TravelZork
@TravelZork 3 ай бұрын
Great idea. I think one of our struggles, is also discussing variance and reel/electronic slots; which greatly impacts how you "feel" (for lack of a better term) the house edge. Movestro was talking about those pay-tables for slots and a lot of the issue game to game is the variance and the way the machine pay-tables operate/are programmed. For example, machines that are "bonus heavy," versus line hits. How this varies by denomination (potentially) for the same game on the same machine. Tough things to really answer. ~michael

Thank you! I often have discussed and pondered "what if you ONLY played during promotional days? and never at any other time." For sure, you would optimize your play, quite a bit. It might be difficult though, to plan your entire travel/gambling calendar around promotional periods at a casino. But, I would also group things like "tournaments" into this, since tournaments (slots, VP, table) are still positive EV. ~michael

This is an interesting topic. I don't have a problem with the casinos doing this, provided the individual has been given written notice of a formal ban. Also, I don't think the casino is trying to save money by not paying out. This is something that probably happens less than a few times a year at any given casino. With most taxable hand-pays being under $2,000 the savings in small. I think they want this rule to act more of a deterrence to keep banned guests away.
@TravelZork
@TravelZork 4 ай бұрын
Interesting points @stevenlowe9807 For sure, the deterrence point is a really valid argument. The written notice of a ban becomes "complicated," or shall we say the properties would need to qualify or "prove" a patron was aware they were banned. I am still very uncomfortable with this, especially with those in the "black book" being essentially "banned" from being PAID 💰 at all Nevada Casinos. (The counterargument there is that "black book" means they are not allowed to enter any Nevada casinos, anyway.) All interesting food for thought. Still, say, too much power given to the casinos with not enough balance for the players. A big deal, for APs (Advantage Player) for sure.

It's the lighting and picture. The steak was a pretty perfect mid-rare, BUT remember (per the description on the menu) "original spice crusted" boneless rib eye. So what you are seeing is the spice crust. Also, since Four Sixes is in the Tableau Space, for the most part, they don't use broilers but instead pan fry and finish in the oven. I did not find the food overly salty, but they can adjust that for you. Of course, by virtue of a "spice crust," it will be somewhat salty.

@@TravelZork Thanks for the info. Unfortunately for HBP reasons we use almost zero added salt at home, and most places are willing to just serve the steaks plain, but I'm wondering about this place since it seems to be so themed.
