For context, Marshall is having a discussion with 'Ghost Lily' about him taking a job as a judge which would cause them to stay in New York, rather than move to Italy for a year so Lily can work her dream job. She knew what she was getting into and not only did she put an ultimatum on someone with traumas about being raised with a bad father, she also tried to manipulate him into wanting kids, both in terms of having Terry talk with him and not going to the water park because that was literally the only card she held. I'm sorry, but for this, Jake should have asked for some time off.

i love this episode because it showed us a different part of jake and amys relationship. we've never seen them discussing that serious before and it takes the development of the characters to another level. but i think (and i am surely not alone when i say) it could have lasted a little longer. when amy says "start over" jake is in shock, but this is briefly forgotten and no one talks about it anymore. this could've at least been mentioned at the end of the episode, or going further it could have lasted one more episode, focusing on that phrase and creating conflict in their marriage. i find it weird how everything was fixed very quickly, despite understanding the dynamics of the show

One of my favourite twists in the show in my opinion just because of how much we were not expecting that
