Just bought a new Am... Haven't shot it yet. I cleaned it and lubed it yesterday because I plan on hitting the range soon. After cycling the charging handle I noticed a friction smell. I took it out and noticed the finish was already wearing off. Is that normal? The bolt and everything else works. But the charging handle is very stiff and takes some force to pull.

How rusty is that Glock today 8 years later? Fora about a hundred bucks you can get the slide and barrel hard chromed at Rock Your Glock and it'll never rust again. It's not too blingy since it is a soft matte finish. It's sort of like matte stainless. In the meantime a little lanolin will stop rust in its tracks for weeks at a time even in harsh conditions. Fluid Film is a great product in a spray can. Spray on and buff dry with a cloth like shoe polish. It's like waxing your car but for metal.

I heard this when it came out. I still love it. ❤️
