This is just my take on the Atom. Was disappointed. The blade steel is way too thin for a knife that large and the build seemed flimsy. The Atom didn't get carried much once I realized how light duty it was. Sold it. An everyday carry for a knife that size a Pm2 all the way. Superior steel, grinds and build. Bought a Neutron 2 and kept it. It's good for light work but the bugout with g10 and similar steel beats it. Wiil take an axis lock over a thin liner lock everytime.

@@Thunderclap_Callahan definitely a good point and way to look at it , I think the TRM knives are great for what they are designed for , there new bulldog has thicker blade stock. Can’t wait to check it out. But I love my pm2 so much I bought two of them haha. A cru wear and the s45vn version!

@@vincerinaldi1000 the bugout can be challenging , any Benchmade really. The body screws can really mess up the centering , doing one a little at a time. Loosening the pivot and holding the blade to one side as you tighten might help you some too

It's a very good knife for general purpose use. I use it a lot every day, mostly for pruning, cutting rope/cardboard and putting points on wood stakes. This is my first knife with this blade shape and I really like it, especially for harvesting vegetables and opening large bags. So far I've got the best edge with 900 grit at 20 degrees and one or two passes on my strop. More stropping is counterproductive. I got mine for $36 including shipping.

one thing people need to know about the coating is it scratches insanely easy compared to many other knives. if you have anything else in the pocket the coating will be scratched into oblivion. i have my kershaw for 7 years and the coating is still almost new despite carrying keys and other metal objects in the same pocket. only the clip shows wear and there are a couple dings. I was disappointed by this especially for the cost. I do love the 940 though but i will probably replace the scales.
