Ford was a wonderful director. Despite his grumpy and awkward attitude in interviews, he really cares deep down about people and life.

Never forgot this opening I haven't seen the movie in years but this has always stuck with me. love the colors the beat and the dancing in the street I mean come on, it's like something out of a smoky late night fantasy.

Versión con música latina (rumba o salsa) suena muy bien. Quien sepa quien es el músico se le agradece la información

My throat tightens every time I see this scene from Ford's The Sun Shines Bright: A community coming together, setting aside past differences and forgiving one of there own.

This was all filmed in the hight of summer. So to fit with the time of year the movie is set they had to strip the leaves from the trees and film at times of the day when the sun would be lower in the sky.

Such a wonderful little scene. You feel like The Deer Hunter could have been 10 hours long and Cimino wouldn’t have run out of things to observe . When I think of 70s cinema , the pan from the onion dome, to the old ladies with the wedding cake and the bridesmaids in pink always jumps into my mind.

One of the sexiest opening credits on film! The music, the choreography. And is Leslie Ann Down sexy or what! From the moment she appears on screen she’s mesmerizing. And when she does that little “dip” it gets me every time.

Hello, all--My Spanish friend, the tenor saxophonist Enric Peidro, called my attention to this film, and this performance. I can identify Marie Bryant (of course), and also trombonist Vic Dickenson, whom I was lucky enough to hear in person many times when I lived in New York City. He's on my short list of favorite trombone players! I think I also see Bill Hadnott back there on bass. I played with Bill often in and around Los Angeles when I was much younger. I have recently been in touch with Bill and Gwen's daughter, Cheryl. The drummer might be Lester Young's brother Lee, but perhaps someone else can confirm this(?) Thanks for posting this great number!

What a memory! I remember the Babushkas (as kids, we called them Babootchkas) carrying cakes down Helen St. in McKee's Rox Bottoms to the church. "Countess of Groan" talked about their boots, hose and coats. Take a careful look at their glasses. Now, that's authentic! And the Hall with the Vets and the photos and the stage... Boge Moye, that's a memory from my childhood. It'd be nice to see the ceremony and some of the quirky shit we do at the reception. (e.g., kidnapping the Bride, Hirko!, the "Single Ladies' Dance", etc.)
