Any reason you didn't use an expression to animate that bounce? Adding all those keyframes seems like a pretty roundabout way of doing that when there are plenty of free tools out there like DUIK that give you a lot more procedural control. Does Lottie also have trouble with expressions?

Hi does anyone have advice on how to warp a shape? I’m trying to follow a basic tutorial on creating a heart, since this simple shape is not included, but i can’t find the warp tool. I’ve tried googling how to warp shapes in vectornator and how to warp shapes in linearity with little to no luck. Do I just have to move each node individually? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

At 5:37 in the video, you click on "Go to state" as your action. No matter what I do, when I make an "Object State", and try to make a button for them, the greyed out checkbox for "Go Back on Roll Off" is ALWAYS already checked, and it won't let me uncheck it. I've tried everything I know to try. It's making Object States extremely limited for me to use. Do you know how I can "un-check" the greyed out "Go Back on Roll Off"? I hope you can help. I've searched all over for a solution, but no luck. And others have had this issue also. Could make a good video if you had a solution.
@EliasSarantopoulos3 ай бұрын
Hi there and sorry to hear you are getting stuck! Is there a possibilty to email me a part of your project to better understand the issue since it is hard for me to picture it? 😊
@chadellison11933 ай бұрын
@@EliasSarantopoulos Hi! Thank you so much for your reply. Sorry for the delay in response. Someone on the Adobe forum helped me. It is a glitch in InDesign. When it happens (Go Back on Roll Off is checked and greyed out), you have to delete your InDesign preferences. They explained to hold down shift-option-control-command (mac) and open InDesign. It will then ask if you want to delete preferences. It fixed the issue. Thank you for the reply sir! You have very good and insightful videos, btw.
@chadellison11933 ай бұрын
I do have another separate issue for which hopefully you have a better and more comprehensive solution. And I'm hoping maybe our comments/replies will help others as well. You're welcome to make a video of the issue, as long as it's with different artwork. Below is a long winded explanation of: When I try to use "Roll Over" and "Click" button states with "Go To State" and "Show/Hide Buttons and Forms", some buttons that should hide upon tap/release won't actually hide until roll off. I also tried using "Click" event instead, but still the same issue. I know a partial solution, but eventually it has to happen. Below explains why, though I hope you can offer a complete solution: Now that I have Object States working, I made a set of Forward and Backward buttons. I used "Show/Hide Buttons & Forms" to show/hide all except the Forward & Backward button needed to be shown on that State. For my situation, this works, as long as I don't create "Roll Over" and/or "Click" states for the buttons. But if I try to use "Roll Over" and/or "Click" states which I prefer to do, sometimes the button doesn't hide until I hover off the button (if the buttons are layered a certain way). I noticed if I arrange my buttons in the layers, it fixes most times this happens. But of course eventually, it has to cycle to the lower layer buttons again. Normally, I would just use "Go To Next State" and "Go To Previous State". But in this situation, I have to use "Go To State" because each state is a video of a ring binder design that either plays a short video flipping forward, or an alternate video flipping backward, from any given page spread. If I use "Go To Next State, I won't be able to use the alternate videos that show the pages flipping backwards. I would only be able to flip forward, and a "Backward" button wouldn't visually work. I could of course just disable "Stop at last state", and cycle back to the beginning, but I would like the viewer to have the option to go back a page without cycling through all pages again. Any ideas? I could share the link to the presentation with you in a private message if you would like, if you will keep it private since it's for my employer. Hope you are well! And thank you in advance! 😊

Awesome! How can you smooth out the transition from the angled view from the side, as it transitions to the front view? Right around this time -- 22:44
@EliasSarantopoulos4 ай бұрын
Transitioning is always about Easing In & Easing Out keyframes and the Graph Editor is there for that. So, in the Timelin, click on the current keyframe and you can adjust the Velocity with the Graph Editor (Shift + F3). I hope this helps. 😊👋

What happens when a camera doesnt have the spiral icon to follow other element like the null object? Why this happens?
@EliasSarantopoulos4 ай бұрын
@@FrankBarrabeitg When paring the camera with a null object, you have much, much more control. You can animate both the camera and the paired null object, something you can be hard with just a camera. When moving the camera alone, both the Position for example moves and the Point of Interest and that it's hard to control it. Using the null prevents that. Hope that helps 😀👋

I'm sorry but I still to this day don't see the point of this being an essential tool. I prefer directly drawing on the screen (I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 3). As an artist, I've found it much better and more free than using a mouse. Therefore, I use the brush tool and just draw a line. That's it. Simple. (I use Photoshop CS6 because I'm not in a financial position to afford a CC subscription plus I'm in the midst of starting and trying to use Affinity Designer 2) So I still I don't see the potential. Not a smooth line in places where other people think it should be? So what!? Certain creative pieces are made that way because the artist is unique and different, not every line and shape of every creative thing, from logos to art pieces, HAS to be smooth. Everyone does not have the exact same visual preference. Yet employers now expect using the pen tool to be considered as a required basic to know and use. Art requires TIME, not speed. Sure, time equals money, but time also equals QUALITY which in turn equals more money. Look, I'm not having a go at you personally, it's great you're teaching people, it's just frustratingly baffling me in general that I can't find an acceptable reason to respect a tool that is unnecessarily complex to me when I can just draw a line, be happy with it and move on to the next action. Please help me, WHY should I respect this tool and use it more often?
