What goes over the opening at the ridge ?

Taping the plywood joints because the insurance companies give a discount??? What a joke. Serves no purpose. Thinking a little overkill on nailing the base tar paper down? On a 8 or 9/12 or higher pitch, maybe... on 4/12 pitch???? Two layers of plywood decking because the homeowner requested it? More money than brains and you gladly accepted it. And the "extra water protection" at the roof penetrations (vent stacks)? You could of at least shown that the pipe was wrapped and the membrane extended out further than the vent boot. Thanks for showing why replacing roofs in Florida is so expensive now-a-days.

That was completely unnecessary to replace the whole thing with the same low quality system.

Allied Roofing and Sheet Metal did the installation. According to their website, they claimed to have developed special installation procedures that have proven to be effective in extending the life expectancy and durability of a flat roof. My roof was done in 2016 so only 6 years old and has been failing for some time now. There are many large bubbles popping up everywhere. I noticed popping sounds occasionally during the evenings but never assumed it was the flat roof pulling away from the substrate. Now I'm stuck with a very expensive roof that will need to be corrected. Wished I would have made a better decision when it came to who was installing a new roof on my home. Good video. I like the way the tape helps waterproof the seam between the plywood pieces. The best.

Felt on a shingle roof ? No sir Ice and water with synthetic underlayment is the way to go we only use felt for shakes

The added plywood layer on the patio cover isn't always the right thing to do. During an earthquake, I've seen the patio cover pull the entire connecting wall off the house. (Northridge CA 1992).

I know it’s a lot of work but it is really nice to see you guys went the extra mile and did a great job.

I was lucky enough to have gotten a job with a contractor who has an all women team. We just completed demolition in the roof of a home that was in real bad shape, we put the beams on yesterday and replaced the damaged insulation. It's funny to see the difference as women, we are always asking one another, if we need anything and passing items back and forth, two of us always have snacks handy and one girl make lunch daily for all the team and I see that the men are more independent.

I have a small buckle along the top of a plywood sheet between the joists so there is nothing to screw it to to push it down. There isn't any water damage yet so I hate to have to replace the decking there. What kind of mending bracket or something else can I use to join it to the above board so it lays smooth. ??
