She is still alive and has an online blog, she has to deal with a lot of health issue, infections and allergys and she aged drastically from her face. But she still wants to live and is grateful of being alive. She must be so strong mentally

If you loosen the knobs on each side, you should be able to manipulate the angle of the tray!

Hi Jake, you don't know me but I'm a friend of Larry and Judy Anderson and have been praying for you since the accident happened. I was with Larry this week and asked how you were doing. He told me to watch this video. You are inspiring Jake and I know you'll be an inspiration to so very many in so many ways. I can't imagine your journey but admire you so much for the great courage you've shown in walking it out! My wife and I continue to hold you and your precious family and friends in our prayers! Thank you for sharing this with us! God bless you and all your loved ones! Tim and Renee Burt

You are beautiful! I love your hair! I'm battling cancer and have lost most of my hair due to chemo. I'm doing OK tho. I take each day as it comes in spite of the pain and fatigue. What kind of ventilator do you use? I love ventilators! LTVS are wonderful ventilators, they are cute!

Thank you for all the comments! My accident has definitely altered my outlook on life. I feel very fortunate to be alive and don’t take anything for granted. I value my life and my things more and try to do good for others. It has had a profound effect on me. I am a better person today because of it and have learned a lot over the past years. I’ve also met some wonderful and amazing people with whom I never would’ve met if this hadn’t happened to me. I'm very happy in my life right now and couldn't be more excited about the future and what may lie ahead. I continue to live each day to the fullest and make the best out of what I'm given. With all of the things I've been through I'm very lucky to be alive and have the chance to live out my life to the depths I want. I am grateful that I can make my own decisions and stay true to myself and my beliefs. Despite the obstacles that do or may come my way, I go at them full force ready to overcome. Sometimes I think I'm unique in this way, especially when I hear or read stories of people who struggle dealing with acceptance, obstacles and challenges. This doesn't just include people with disabilities, as everybody has something in their life that may stop them in their tracks and they have to choose which way to handle it or go about dealing.

Most likely not. Most SCI patients have a personal schedule for bowel care and use a catheter of some kind to empty their bladder. Either self cath at a regular basis throughout the day, or have an indwelling Foley catheter which is changed every few weeks/months. The interval is individual.

While we all work toward technical & medical solutions for folks so grievously afflicted, we should also explore the horrendous daily expenses, and how these costs are covered.

This video was wonderful. You are all In my prayers. You're doing a wonderful job. I'll go ahead and tell you that. You have definitely learned to sync your breaths with speach, and that is great. You are ALL in my prayers, and I want to say, "THIS IS BEYOND WONDERFUL."
