I love how this song portrays the part of grief where you wonder "what if I did this?" and completely blamed yourself for the tragedy that happened while also simultaneously wondering "why did they do that?" It's completely an internal battle where you think your loved one would blame you or if you find yourself balming them. I've had these moments. "What if I had said something? Raised concern?" and then "Why didn't she go to the doctor sooner? How couldn't she have known?" It's no one's fault and this song shows perfectly how playing the "who let down who?" game just ends up hurting you either way. Anyways thanks to my friend for dying so I could find this muscial ig 😭🖐

I just found out about this musical like a week ago and I fell inlove with it. I love the soundtrack and it helps me with my grieving process. I lost my grandad to covid last year and I’m still mad and sad I didn’t get to say goodbye. And this scene really gets me every single time. I wish I could see this masterpiece in person.

Sam’s grief is so difficult to watch, especially with Kelly here, since the audience has truly fallen in love with her at this point. The maths problem about the SUV is just the icing on the cake. Love this show!

Sam's mom just called her. Kelly, her best friend, the closest person she ever had, has been hit by a car and is now dead. The show takes place about a year afterwords and this is all just a memory. The second song, memory as well, is her bf Adam offering, but not really, to run away together. This takes weeks, months after Kelly's death, but Sam is still completly numb.
