Ngl, I saw this with the original cast and now it just doesn't sound right with different casts. They did great but if you were there with the OGs man I witnessed grown men crying in the audience, it was the very definition of powerful, nothing beats them

There have been grown men crying in every performance I've seen of Hadestown. My personal favorite and most moving by far was with Chibueze Ihuoma as Orpheus. I'd sell my soul to Hades for a cast recording with his voice! Most people who have been lucky enough to see him agree too. I was happy with the OG cast before I saw his version.

I saw it last night in sf, and the fog machines produced so much fog the actors couldn't see and they had to stop the show. The audience was cheering for about ten minutes as a man came on stage with a fan, blowing the smoke away. The restarted the scene and the song got the most applause out of any song in the show.

I’ve seen it twice so far in SF! Anyone else notice they’ve swapped the thoroughbred line to a dead athlete singing “don’t compete in downhill sled”? I wonder if this is a permanent change or just because an ensemble cover (Nevada Riley) was on for Lydia and the swing only had a diff costume that fit?

It is 100% worth it!! It's a bit different from the myth but it's so amazing. I've seen it twice and cried both times. If you end up deciding to go let me know what you thought of it!

@@mushroomsupremacy2081 typically I do so. I’m not trying to come off rude either but a good majority of people on KZbin know how descriptions work. It just so happens though that occasionally you post a comment and check the description afterwards. Personally I just didn’t feel like deleting my comment. There are also occasions when one just forgets to do so, or does do so but skims it over possibly missing information. Everyone makes mistakes. :)

Jo looks and sounds more like Alana Pollard (one of the Jo understudies in the tour) but I'm not sure. But Jade has a raspier voice from what I've heard in other audios of them singing
