I keep hearing the situation where one side gets heat and the other doesnt. My situation is all the vents put out the same temperature which is cool. eventually it gets warm from all vents but goes back to cold from all vents.

I hope more people find this video as it is extremely helpful. Yes the placement for the heater cores on jk is a pretty bad spot for gunk to just collect and you will lose heat on the driverside progressively. Backflushing is what ive always done for my customers and they were always very happy. As long as the heater core didnt leak, i always just backflushed them. The only differrence is i use a powerflusher.

My heater core(I think) is leaking coolant into my passenger side, would a flush help or make it worse? And do you recommend I just do the short cut and cut part of the bracket under glove box or strip everything? Thanks

Great simple video. So when you added the coolant back, did you just pour it in the reservoir then run the engine for a bit or should you pour some into the tubes that you just cleaned?
@orestvlogz225611 ай бұрын
Yea just into the reservoir and let it run.

For anyone having fitment issues with the first starter he had. It WILL fit. The issue is the black plastic piece thats held at the starter mounting point you need to loosen that piece, slide the starter in at an angle and then rotate so the holes line up The starter with the two longer bolts are recommend as the short bolt configuration has been known the crack the block in very very rare occasions

Having the same charge system fault code since few days ago. It starts half the time like normal now but other half it won’t and make weird noises or sputter weirdly but still start after a few attempts. Alternator and battery are good I think since voltage reads 14.1 and it cranks over strongly. I believe some connection could possibly be loose or damaged so I’ll probably order a starter for the day it won’t start for good. I also have American racing headers on the way, how is it with heat as I assume yours aren’t coated? I don’t plan on coating mine. Also any o2 sensor extensions for front or rear?
@orestvlogz225611 ай бұрын
Yea mine weren’t coated and no issues with sensors. What I don’t remember is if my tuner relocated a sensor or not since I was supercharged.

WTF Chrysler!!! 04/2013 jeep jk sahara (used, w/68k mi) owner here. got this jeep for my wife after her last round of chemo... she's in remission! found out about this sand casting issue from a jeep forum i frequent. we've had some minor problems and quirks, like no heat on drive side. luckily i'm a decent shade tree and have done all the work myself, including this heater core flush. got a tablespoon of debris outta my 1st flush. we love our jeep, but they are not reliable. give my series 80 toyota! one thing is for sure, the jeep community is solid, great people! thanks for posting this vid, thumbs up! Q&A: 1) should i elevate the front and burp the radiator? i did top the overflow off. 2) what intervals or miles do you suggest doing the heater core flush?

Appreciate this video! Followed it step by step. Even a putz like me could do this. Heat output on my 2013 JK seemed anemic. PRE FLUSH TEMPS: D/S = 120. P/S = 140. So I started the backflush. It produced debris even after 10 min of water passing thru it. I found that triggering the water sprayer repeatedly on & off broke up more debris. I also did an opposite flow flush which produced debris. POST FLUSH TEMPS: D/S = 160. P/S = 160. Nice! Recommend using a pristine clean light colored bucket so you can visually confirm when all the debris is out of the core. Also flow water as long as it takes clean it completely (15+ mins for mine). Hardest part for me was backing the hoses off the tubes. Took a lot of effort and beat up knuckles.
@ianmcd7 Жыл бұрын
Follow-up question (and thanks for the other answer), what did you use to blow-out/dry-out after flushing?
@orestvlogz2256 Жыл бұрын
I used an air compressor and made a fitting that attached to the hose. No need for crazy psi (so you don’t blow and lines) and then blow out the lines. If you don’t have that you can always blow it out with your mouth I guess. As for drying? I didn’t have to dry anything just hooked it all back up and filled with coolant.
@0verfiend3 ай бұрын
@@orestvlogz2256maybe just gravity feed some coolant in through the outlet tube instead of water for a bit. It should flush out the water, like the water did to the coolant. Seemingly.
@ianmcd72 жыл бұрын
Awesome video, thanks. I’ve seen other posts which cautioned against mixing coolants… I don’t have details on the coolant which is in the jeep now, do you know if this would be an issue? Thanks again
@orestvlogz22562 жыл бұрын
Yeah I would try not to mix coolants...however in your situation I would suggest popping the radiator cap, squeezing the radiator hose and seeing what color coolant you see. I know this isn't spot on or 100% accurate but if I was a betting man I'd say it'll be the reddish/orange color. Run to your local parts store and buy an OEM equivalent and you'll be fine.
@ianmcd7 Жыл бұрын
You should bet… it is red!
@rey5597 Жыл бұрын
I know this is an old comment but for anyone who sees this, there are two different coolants used in the JK’s. I believe 2013 and up uses OAT. 2012 and older uses HOAT. Those two can’t be mixed. I’d get it from the dealer or find the part number and order online. But I recommend using mopar.
