How can you explain this mineralogically? The chromium in red spinel causes its fluorescence. Natural blue spinel should be colored by iron and this not fluoresce? I am trying to to identify a blue stone myself, it appears natural but it fluoresces so I thought synthetic

Any blue means it is NOT pigeon blood. Tinge of orange, peach , is pigeon blood. The eye of a pigeon is orange red. That stone still is beautiful

Scrape the ruby against the surface of another object. If it leaves a red streak, it's fake. You’re welcome, people. Also, give it a nice scratch with a quarter to see if scratch marks appear. That's how you’ll know its fake. Bubbles are another sign as well.
