Still loving the Monaro design. This could've been Holden's answer to Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

The argument as to whether a Phase 1 existed is the same as the Holden FX.Neither existed in the accepted form. The first Falcon GTHO was just that.....an XW GT HO.These had a 351 Windsor motor.Later in this lineage it came with a 351 Cleveland motor.These cars are often called SERIES 1 1/2 & generally accepted as such.These were then followed by the officially designated GTHO Phase 2 &,a little later,the XY GT HO Phase 3 (111). The Holden FX was a 48/215 & became colloquially known as the FX as being the predecessor of the officially identified FJ Holden. Time often accepts popular identifications of vehicles that never actually existed,but everyone recognises the terminologies commonly used.

Outstanding Australian Automotive recreation - the Berlinetta has been one of my all time favorites, since I saw a photo of it, many years ago, and could not believe is was built in 1939 - I thought it had to be a misprint. So advanced and so beautiful.

Gee, fond memories. There some amazing cars around where I grew up. Unfortunately I was a couple of years away from driving. There was a green Phase 3, a genuine orange A9X, an XU1 and my favourite... my mate's dad had a beautiful 396 big block Camaro. No wonder I loved cars!

“ It was a quick car , these days it’s not particularly quick” ! Compared to what tho. It was 43 year old technology when this came out. The bloody thing was still as quick as 2002 SS commodore with a 5.7 litre gen 3. Exceptional effort in my book.

MY dad sold Paul Newman HU 40 in 1977. Paul came & personally bought that T332 from my dad in Novato & trailered it off in our enclosed trailered to S. CA & converted the car into the Red Bud Spider that KeKe wrecked at Mosport a year later. We did not ever have a MSG ingnition on board... Great video. BTW I have tons of pics & many of our Ex-Sheckter T330 car we took to the LBGP in 1975 too if you'd like

It is amazing that people don't know sarcasm when they see it. Just for the record, yes, my father did actually work at Chrysler, in both the Lonsdale, & Tonsley Park plants as required. He had a lot to do with the development of the Australian built chargers. The most forgotten charger is the E37.

This car is not quite the same shape as the original, there are many reasons for this, not the least being that the production engine was bigger than the race engine and thus the body is longer. Two videos showing the original: First, a clip from Victory By Design shows Alain de Cadenet (15 times Le Mans competitor) driving the original, and I mean driving! kzbin.info/www/bejne/jH6zaJmNbNmdadk The entire Jaguar episode is on KZbin and is essential viewing kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoPSf6uNh9JgobM The entire series is on KZbin in varying quality. The Porsche one was the first made and not that good apart from the driver practicing the Targa Florio at speed on a normal day, dodging a horse and cart in a village, you know that sort of thing. The rest of the series is fantastic, I have no idea how they got people to lend them those irreplaceable cars and then let them drive them like that. The second begins with a part of the video shot of XJ13 just before Norman crashed it, the rest is another replica kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJCreGh3oJV5ftE

I believe that there were two XJ13s built but one was demolished in an accident when a wheel collapsed.
@robertnicholson773311 ай бұрын
No, just the one, a number of years after it was crashed by Norman Dewis, it was rebuilt. There are a number of sources of accurate information on the car. Neville Swales is one source. He actually bought one of the five original quad cam V12s built by Jaguar off German Ebay. He then proceeded to build a very accurate replica around the original engine, using original drawings and photos, many hours in the archive. He now builds close (improved) replicas of the original quad cam V12.

Some say the most beautiful car ever is the E- Type, some say its the F40, some say this Jaguar XJ13, but I have to disagree with them all, because my first car was a 1300 corsa which was the only car I could afford and which gave me my freedom to take me and my family to the park or the beach. It gave us freedom which we hadn't had before . Nah , thats all bullshit its the Jag by a mile. lol

I owned an RX2 in California in 1980 or so. I was driving it one night (ok, I was at the pub and had a few beers) and got out into the country a bit and decided to string out second gear before I went to 3rd. I couldn't believe what happened - at a certain rpm, it was as if it got fired out of a gun...I laughed out loud at my discovery! It was like Jekyl and Hyde!
