1986 was the SMOKIN' year for music, in general, in my opinion ... A MAJORITY of my favorite songs and vibes are from 1986 .... I was 13 that year ... 🤘

Rick Springfield was one of my favorite artists, in my opinion everything he did, he did well. I liked his music and the artistic work behind it. I also liked his music videos.

The song starts off with the main melody, nice enough but it keeps on building on that melody, it really explodes. A great song and the perfect voice. Doesn't get better than this we are in 2024

i think this song meant a pivital point in Air Supply's carreer back in 1986. Back then, they were going down the hill in terms of chart performance and Arista Records started to recruit all sorts of composers outside the band to try to put them back in the game. As a result, about fifty percent of the tracks on the album Hearts In Motion were written by outsiders to the band, including all of its singles. Nevertheless, commercially speaking, Lonely Is The Night did not match the expectations not even by far and the same goes for the album Hearts in Motion. The way i see, it was actually for the best because had it been a hit it would probably have started a vicious creative dynamic that might end up leading Grahan Russel to become frustrated, since he was the main songwriter, and the duo eventually to split up. I believe the fact of this song have been a flop was actually a blessing in disguise for them.
