I’m not sure how much of the lore you’ve seen (hi first video of yours I’ve seen y’all seem cool I’m def gonna check out the rest of your channel now) but the lore videos have a playlist that makes more sense to follow along with and the the lore explanation video ‘I am Clancy’ does a good job of giving background understanding/knowledge to people that haven’t been following it for the past decade lmao

It's so wild to me that this is one of Tyler's least favorite songs on the album, because it is SUCH. A. BANGER!!! 🔥🔥🔥 It's probably one of my favorite songs they've ever done, and Josh really is a legend for talking him into keeping it on the album! Tyler gets super animated and choked up when they play this song live, which is super powerful, and makes me wonder if he's changed his opinion on it...

There's a reference to the death of Tyler's Grandma in the bridge ("My Dad just lost his Mom, I think that everybody leaves..."), which shatters my heart into a million pieces. That alone must make the song difficult for him. It really says a lot, that he's willing to open up to us about things like that!

I don't know if you ever heard the song "My Blood, but at the end of this song you hear the synths from "My Blood." I don't want to spoil it for you if you haven't, but there is a huge similarity between what happens in both videos.

YAY!!!! I'm so, so happy to see that you're going on the Clancy train. It's such an amazing album, and I hope you love it! Tyler has said that he decided early on to dance onstage like he does when he's listening to music by himself in his room, even if people judge him. That's something you don't really find in a lot of artists, especially ones of that level of fame: Pure, unadulterated honesty. He and Josh wear their hearts on their sleeves, and aren't afraid to just be who they are completely, which I absolutely adore them to the moon and back for! And yes: I definitely think it's a great idea to at the very least watch the "I Am Clancy" video, to get better context of what's happening in this video, and for what's coming up with Paladin Strait. It's a fun ride, though it can be confusing, if you don't know what's going on...

This song and video is so much fun! If you look especially in the store Tyler goes to, there are so many little easter eggs to the band's lore they've been building over almost a decade now. I would DEFINITELY recommend checking out "The Story" playlist on their channel, and checking out the videos on that list you haven't seen already at this point, especially before you watch Paladin Strait. That video might be a bit confusing otherwise, as it's kind of the climax of the story. And the band's videos often deal with being stuck in a cycle, so I think it's clever that this video is a giant cycle in itself, while Tyler is sitting on a bicycle; Cycles in cycles! 😁 I'm not sure if that was intentional or not, but still fun ..

This video seems to be a reference to their Scaled and Icy album, which was poorly received by both critics and many fans compared to previous albums. In Backslide Tyler also says "kinda wishing that I never did Saturday." He's admitted that with the song Saturday on that album he was intentionally trying to write a radio hit, and it backfired.

Trying to write something doesn't always work out when it comes to music. It can seem disingenuous. On the other hand I (as someone who also writes music) think giving yourself challenges you wouldn't usually try, though it might turn out horrible, in the long run you learn new ways to express ideas musically.

Thank you for your reaction! I can't stand those reactions that stop the video 1 too many times to over-analyze. It makes me think you've already seen the video when you do that...which doesn't make it an authentic reaction. With that being said...Diana is truly one of a kind and is beautifully out of this world! :)

We had never seen or heard anything of Diana until we had watched this. We don't watch any of the videos before hand. Though I think there are a few where I have seen the video before, but Heather has not, and it's such a good video everyone wants her to see it too.
