I haven’t seen you change the oil yet. I think that would be the first thing I would’ve done. I hope you did. Good luck getting her going.

Nice job. I would suggest you do carry a new pump with you, when you actually do ocean, or lake trials.

On the controls on the console, pump the throttle forward to give it some gas. Put it back in neutral, turn the key.

lol all you have to do to break it free was to pull two bolts across from each other , get two long bolts and bolt your cheater bar to the flywheel.

I thought this might be interesting but really wasn't. The video would be much better if you spoke plainly and enunciated a lot better. Sounds like you had a mouth full of marbles.

How did the boat do? get a wireless mic you can clip on your shirt.

and the long crank could be the fuel pump check valve going out or the pressure regulator bypassing after you turn off the key. To check it use a fuel pressure gauge, there's a port for it on the fuel rail.

Yeah I agree you don’t know what you’re doing especially when you tried to twist the oil fill cap and said “ what’s this coolant?” Lmfao😂 is the radiator on the bow? You really don’t know how a outboard cools?

Do you have to fully register\insure your new boat before you can take it out on the water ?

Wow can we all step back and give our condolences to all the boats getting scrapped because of a hurricane. Even this boat was someone’s day out on the water and then one day, poof. Washed away forever.

Cheap is not relative unless you tell us what you paid for the boat. For what's it worth this boat would not scare me away, any Key West is a timeless classic. Cleaning this up to shine like a brand new penny is a walk in the park. However, no matter what you think or how good something looks EVERY wire and most likely gauge in that boat is junk and will fail given enough time. Still no big deal, wire is cheap considering the cost of a new boat. I love these type of projects.

its your vcts. the 5.0 can have cam phaser issues which are known as vcts. get them replaced soon because if they are this bad already they can come apart catastrophically. take to a ford dealer preferably.

Might honesty be your fly wheel/Starter , I watched a guy with a old 6.5 Detroit have that same issue and it sounds like it nocks at the start but runs ok after. Check your starter and transmission. Check if all of your transmission bolts are still tight and for any chips in the fly wheel. That sound you are hearing I think it is grinding the starter, I think that's why It takes so long too start. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5fUYpqvi66Me6M Here's the video of what I was talking about Just a idea of what it could be! Lmk an hope it helps.

Oil is real thin 0w20 or similar. A lot of the ford's have poor cylinder wall tolerance, oil blow by, and cam phase issues. My neighbors ford wad using a quart of oil every 1200 miles. I have a ram and switched to 5w30, and the ticking at start up stopped. Definitely check your oil level, that thing is kind of noisy.

Great job man! I just went through the same thing with my Yamaha 200 vmax. The pump in the vst tank is everything! Just make sure you run it at high rpm once it’s on the water to burn off any gunk on the cylinders and replace all the fuel filters. Just my two cents

If this was me, I would have taken the power head off, and spent the needed money to give it a full rebuild, most likely will only need new end shells, piston rings and a complete seal gasket set, but by doing what your doing IE: turning it over you probably damaged the boars and pistons, and maybe the crank journals, I could do a full rebuild for my self for under £1k, where if you damage the rest of it your looking at 3-5 times that.
