MDF itself is not particularly attractive to termites. This is because it lacks the cellulose (sugars) that termites find appealing in natural wood.

Is 1mm Rheau acrylic sheet ok for kitchen. As 2 mm thick is expensive, should I go for some other brand with 1.5 mm thickness

Hello, rhea acrylic is very thin and flimsy. It would be easily scratched, dented, or even broken during normal kitchen use.It's important to prioritize safety and functionality in a kitchen. While some brands might sell 1.5mm acrylic sheets, it's generally not recommended for kitchens due to the reasons mentioned earlier (thinness, heat sensitivity).

@3:06 shows a TV unit. The PVC panels behind the tile will be impossible to clean and can be home for insects over time. So it is not a practical design. The video itself was helpful.
