Thank you for the video. I am a student from Germany and started a SaaS startup, selling to universities. This video helped me a lot. Are there any books that you could additionally recommend?

Great videos. I'm working my way through the 6 part series and have purchased the book. Can I get a copy of the presentations to go along with my notes? Also, I haven't read the book yet, are these videos based on the content in the book or a different take on the same content?

Thank you for the insightful content! I have a critical business dilemma and would greatly value your perspective: One of my few but important SaaS clients insists on owning the code and solution to eliminate competition. I see three options: 1) Refuse and stick to the SaaS model with other clients, risking losing this key client. 2) Agree to share some intellectual property to protect her while maintaining my ability to serve others. 3) Sell my company to her. Could you help me clarify the best path forward for my company’s future? Thank you so much!

Running multiple iterations with the same customer is difficult due to time constraint. What do you do if the customer does not like your pricing model? Do you keep options for other pricing models open as a back-up during the meeting? Similarly wrt pricing do you start the negotiation in the meeting to understand how much are they willing to pay?

Switching from on-prem to cloud while increasing price 9x? And customers would ok this move without seeking an alternative? I understand cloud infra is not free but it seems extremely steep as a price increase.

Sorry I don't get that. Number of seats jumped 5x but storage/usage jump 5000x. Unless the cost to serve is really low how does an increment in number of seats covers the cost of the 5000 Gb?

Nice brother! Great insight. Usually the value metric is at the end of the customer value generation chain. I loved it.
@maximboe9 ай бұрын
Love your videos! How do you or where do you factor predictability into the metric? I can see a case where a metric can be measured, clients want more of it, and it's dense but it's not super predictable how often of this metric will end up being used throughout the year. Kind of like Zapier. Would you still sell an enterprise a million "Zaps" even if they only end up using 700k?
@maximboe9 ай бұрын
Great video! If you were working with a SaaS company that's only targeting enterprise-level accounts, how would you approach packaging? Would "Good, Better, Best" even still make any sense at that level?
@SaaSPricing9 ай бұрын
GBB rarely makes sense for any level. However, more generally the structure of 'tiered' packaging usually doesn't work for enterprise, as it breaks down under too high a requirement for configurability and product complexity.

The thing why Ulwick’s ODI is so attractive to a major extent is because his book is like a super detailed step by step guide meanwhile we do not have such guides by Kristensen unfortunately. Not saying that Ulwick’s ODI is bad in any way. Quite the opposite actually
@SaaSPricing10 ай бұрын
Yep. Ulwick is very practical and actionable, so that's a big plus. But I think the 'conceptual juice' is in Christensens original work here. Can't ever have both, so it's just up to us on the receiving end to digest and apply appropriately. All the best!

Do you have advice on pricing on a per-customer basis? My customers can range from startups to huge corporations. Intuitively, I would want to organize a sales call with the customer and make them an offer based on their size, volume of usage of my SaaS and ability to pay. Is it bad to do SaaS pricing this way? I am still at a stage where I can make unproven assumptions about what the "rails" of my SaaS are and how far they will take the customer, for some it could do the work of one employee, for others it could do the work of ten. Do you have resources for people in my position?
@SaaSPricing10 ай бұрын
Hi @ziadmalik-fs7ps : first, get a name that's easier to spell ;-P. Second: you'll find a bunch of guides on my youtube channel for that purpose. Search for 'pricing metrics' and you'll find ways to scale pricing across customers and segments. Good luck!
