Hey thanks for the video! How did you go about removing the rear bumper? Looks like there are nuts attached to the two main bolts that are particularly hard to reach. Cheers
@ExcellentEngineering1966Күн бұрын
There where two captive nuts on the inside of the bumper, with the bolts going from the axle side, however one of these had come unwelded so we had to hacksaw off one of the bolts.

Good demo - great camera work. I must admit that those very worn out brushes should have been replaced, and it appears the your unit was missing a fiber washer on the commutator end. Not everyone has a lathe available, but those who do should turn the commutator using the lathe for a perfectly concentric and straight cleaning of the segments.
@ianrobinson9565 Жыл бұрын
@KaraokeSC. Probably one of the clearest camera job I have seen. However you are correct about using a lathe on the armature. High speed with a very sharp tool. Then to undercut the mica I use a feeler gauge that is the correct thickness with a hook ground onto the end. Different gauge thickness for different armatures. Never undercut an armature on a starter motor.

@timmyluap. I have to agree. If people are going to post a video on a LUCAS generator restoration, why not do it properly and correctly. While I applaud this guy for having a go I would consider this repair for emergency use only. Also holding the brush springs out will work for a vented generator, but not for one with solid ends. I have tools to do that job. We make them in our workshop. After 50+ years I believe that we know what we are doing.

Are the two electrodes positive and negative? or do you just have 2 positive electrodes? because hydrogen forms at the positive side, and oxygen forms at the negative side. Are you just using normal tap water, or distilled water, and is it mixed with anything?

Hi, I saw the video and the other videos you made for this thank. The model itself is very nice and also how you managed to make the suspensions and all, only for this video you should have a lot more subscribers. I was wondering if you can help me to model a new simpler version, not for the m22 but for a Tiger 5, I said simpler version because in many youtube videos and online tutorials it used an RC controller that is not cheap, a receiver module, and brushless motors. All these parts are in an RC car that is a lot cheaper (it could be an affiliate link). I Wanna start a new channel on KZbin and we could make a video together, you for the modeling and me for the building I already bought the car, It's a 360° stunt car and I choose this because it is powerful and it is driven by 2 motors like a real tank or your RC model. It could also have a moving turret and a way to shoot some BBs Please contact me if you want to do it! Thanks...
