Thanks for the video! If you are selected in the lottery, how many tickets can you purchase from that one winning entry?

How do you get tickets for October? The drawings are for December or later
@RolandAroundJapanАй бұрын
The drawing for October tickets is already finished. I believe according to the site, from Sep 15, you will be able to get any leftover tickets for Oct and Nov. But I expect them to go fast (if any are available) so you will want to be ready around 12AM Sep 15 Japan time.

Thank you for all the new information) I was wondering if you know how many stamps are possible to get on the walking stick climbing the subashiri trail? thank you Also I see many people saying there are parts of the trail when you will need to use hands to climb. where do you put your walking stick to do that (sorry if its a weird question)
@RolandAroundJapan3 ай бұрын
I've only done the Yoshida trail so I can't say for sure about the Subashiri route. I see that there are seven rest houses along the way so my initial guess would be around 7 (assuming each rest house has a stamp, which is not guaranteed but possible). Again, I haven't climbed the Subashiri (and it's been awhile since I climbed Fuji) but I'm assuming when they meaning crawl on your hands, the ascent is so steep that you can't just hike up. At that point, you should be able to keep the stick in your hand still as you go up, but you may also want to look into some sort of strap or rope that you can use to attach it to your side/back in case you want both hands free.

Checked the website for the day I want to hike (7/20) but am unable to buy a ticket for that day. Does that mean that I’ll have to gamble and be one of the 4000 to get a ticket at the station physically or there is no chance of entering at all?
@RolandAroundJapan3 ай бұрын
I don't think it's clearly written on the official site but several news reports have said that of the 4000 per day limit, 3000 will be reservations meaning up to 1000 climbers can climb each day without a reservation. So basically from 3am 7/20 until 4PM you can try and go up without a reservation as long as they haven't reached that 1000 non-reservation climber limit.

Thanks. You clarified a lot of things. I checked the website you talked about, but it wasn't really clear how the whole thing is working. Now, i got it.

Say we enter the gate by 4pm and reach 8th station around 10pm and have not booked any mountain huts, can we continue to climb to the peak or is there any gate restructions at the peak too?
@RolandAroundJapan3 ай бұрын
As far as I know, the only gate restriction would be at the 5th station. I believe as long as you're one of the 4000 climbers per day, you can climb up without a hut reservation as long as you get in before 4pm.

What about hiking in early october?
@RolandAroundJapan4 ай бұрын
Climbing outside the official season (July to mid-September) is highly discouraged. Weather conditions are much more severe and can easily get below freezing at the summit. Winds will be stronger and snow is possible (although not as common in early October). First aid stations, toilets, and mountain huts are closed with no evacuation sites open as well. Any rescue operations (if necessary) would be harder to undertake off-season. If despite all this, you still wish to climb Mt. Fuji, you are asked to create a climbing plan and submit it with the Yamanashi or Shizuoka police departments (depending on which route you take).

Hi, may I know if I use Subashiri trail, do I still need to make a booking. And is it ok if I climb through subashiri trail and descend through yoshida trail?
@RolandAroundJapan4 ай бұрын
If you are using the Subashiri trail, the Shizuoka government requests you to register with them before climbing. This registration is free and consists mainly of you reviewing climbing rules and registering your rest place if you're climbing after 4PM. You can find more details here www.fujisan-climb.jp/en/for-every-climber.html#block2 If it works better for you, you can climb up the Subashiri trail and down the Yoshida trail.

Thank you for the info, I had one question I'm hoping you can answer as it's not clear to me. I am planning on hiking in one day as that's all I have time for, my partner isn't good at early mornings but we will try to get there as early as possible. My question is, when the gates close at 4pm are people coming down, off the hike still able to pass through to get out. Basically if I start at 7am and finish at 6pm will I be able to leave the mountainside
@RolandAroundJapan4 ай бұрын
You're welcome! I believe the gate to ascend will be restricted but you can still descend the mountain at anytime. So you will be able to leave at 6pm no problem.

the yoshida trail has a different entry and exit path near the 5th station, the entry path is nearer to the mountain. i did a night climb in 2019 and nearly went up the exit path because i wasnt hugging the mountain wall.
