Sad to see that the "crew bus" vehicles seem to be ICE powered and the trains are belching black clouds of diesel. Still, it's FABULOUS to see thousands of battery electric cars, lots of Tesla Powerpacks and lots of rooftop solar. So good beats bad.

Another great video. Love your coverage of the rail head. Just a suggestion to make your videos more enjoyable - Please do not flit from one area and then come back again unless you want us to see something. It is a bit jarring. Still don't see any link to help your channel, financially. Great work and keep it up especially next week when Joe will not be flying.

Kinda surprised they couldn't get the railroad to run a spur to the factory. Maybe use the Boring machine for a direct line to the rail yard?
@DavidJohnson-tv2nn
@DavidJohnson-tv2nn 2 күн бұрын
It doesn't work that way. They don't own the right of way, or have easements to build a spur or a tunnel. Acquiring right of way would be very expensive, and maybe impossible if people don't want to sell. A tunnel even more expensive. When they have an 80 mph freeway that goes right past the factory!

@@rtz549 My understanding is no they can't. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. But what I don't understand is why so many Tesla fans want to do things the hard way. There is a freeway that goes right by the factory. Car carriers are available. Seems like there is a strong desire to build tunnels just because Musk owns the Boring company. Am I wrong?

@@DavidJohnson-tv2nn they have to pay those truck drivers to haul those cars. If they had a tunnel; the vehicles could drive themselves there. Though I guess they should just send them out using the existing route; no need for the tunnel.
@DavidJohnson-tv2nn
@DavidJohnson-tv2nn 2 күн бұрын
@@rtz549 I'm not an expert on this but a tunnel would likely have to be rated for humans. Since it would have to be serviced from time to time. That means ventilation, additional escape tunnels, etc. Again, someone can correct me if I'm wrong. Also, customers may have a big problem with miles being put on their $50,000 to $100,000 vehicles. Final point, and this is a big one..... If self driving were actually "just around the corner" (as Musk has been claiming every year since 2016) The cars wouldn't need to drive in a tunnel. It is just a matter of being realistic about what has been promised, what is likely possible, and what is feasible. Yes, they can build a tunnel, assuming they can acquire the right of way. But is it worth the cost and effort?

@DessieDoolan
@DessieDoolan 6 күн бұрын
Conveyor belt storage cassette. Count 10 rungs down the ladder and there's another set of rollers mounted on a beam. The conveyor belt runs through both sets of rollers. When an additional length of conveyor belt is added, the bottom rollers and beam are lowered to the bottom of the frame. As the TBM advances and more conveyor is required in the tunnel the beam rises releasing the required of belt. In Jeff Roberts latest video another length of belt has been added, so it's a little easier to see how it all works.

But the mainstream media says Tesla sales are slumping??? All you have to do is count the train cars to understand the sheer volume of Tesla demand. This video is a great example of 1000 Cybertrucks a week. Love the videos, it’s great to see first hand how progress is going.

@@michaeljohnson1805 how many train cars were in this shot, if each car holds 20 to 30 cars and they need a day or two to load you have the capacity by rail they can ship. I do the same exercise for the trucks at Fremont as well. Shanghai is staggering how many cars they are loading onto ships. Capicity for model y is 6k a week. I suspect the 30,000 a week is already met because if china sales slip, Europe and Australia pick up the slack. The flyover videos are critical in determining shipments and % Of model sales. I really appreciate how much you can build a meaningful estimate. From what I’m seeing here Tesla is looking like they are ramping up for some new records.

3:04 top left. New length of main power cable on site for the TBM. Looks like they are planning to keep going for some distance yet. Approximately 130 stacks of segments on site. Say 120 allowing for some rejects and damages. So 60 rings, 90m of segments available. Conveyor cassette beam has risen about 1.9m since 4th May. Approximately 50m advance from the estimate 165m on 4th May, total 215m excavation. That puts the TBM cutterhead at the bottom of the berm about 30m west of the line of parked cars adjacent to the perimeter road. The total remaining segments will take the exit point to just outside the building extension. i.e. There does not appear to be enough segmental lining to take the TBM into the building. Just my estimates of course.
