What an incredible masterpiece of video game music… the lyrical expressive melodies and fantastic harmonies (with a French impressionist touch) are literally perfect !

Such an underrated game.. The PS3 is my favorite console but I wish this game had a remaster or at least on a PC and Xbox 360 version.

Spent the better part of an afternoon learning this by ear on piano. It has a few nice little surprises harmonically. It hangs out in the key of F mostly, but it has little escapades into Bb, C, and even Eb. Uses Dorian, Ionian, Mixolydian, and Mixolydian b6, and some quartal and quintal stacks throughout. It's beautiful.

I finally finished Vagrant Story today, around over 18 years back when I played it as a kid and had no idea how to pass the first dungeon. The part from 0:31 made me shed tears. It felt warm and comforting yet I felt a sense of sadness. I felt like I was Ashley looking at my own family for one last time...

This song was haunting and fit so perfectly the lost souls trapped in place. This was an area that you had to walk through and it created a memory that goes beyond the game. You felt the sorrow, the emotional loss...but somewhere in there is a lovely time suggesting that all hope is not lost. It's surreal. I love this song.
This ending theme from MGS2 had a very 'New York' feeling to it.

I imagine myself waking up on a bed topped with a thick and soft blanket. As I turn my head to the right, I see open double glass doors leading to a veranda. The late morning sun spills through the opening across a wooden floor while a gentle southern breeze causes white translucent curtains to slowly drift back and forth. Momentarily confused, I glance down at the bed to see the sleek form of a sleeping woman with medium-length black hair and a delicate round face - Asian, yes, but of which nation? - wearing a silk negligee as she embraces the mattress. Oh, yes: this is a nice track.
