We switched from Crown lifts to Raymond. The Raymond trucks are top heavy on turns with and without a load forks to the ground. The damn truck coats 8 feet to a stop when the operator lets go of forward control. The only way to come to a stop on a dime is to either throw the control in reverse to break the forward momentum, or do the same and foot off the dead man switch. Damn piece of shit runs like a drunk trying to walk on ice.

The newer crowns stop much better. I've drove two crowns and honestly they're nice machines. I still usually throw my foot off the deadman to stop. Working at home depot the only time I really travel full speed is if its night time and the store is closed doing nightcrew work. Too busy during store hours to even really go full speed with a spotter.

Depends how tall your mast is. But for the most part, they aren't used to load trailers.

Imagine driving a car that made you use your left foot on the brake when in reverse and your right foot when in forward. I think it is a crazy idea. I don't want to be thrown out of the truck in an accident at 8 mph tractor first! That extra twist grip looks like it could break my arm in a collision. Why is Raymond promoting unsafe driving in their video? They build side stance too. They should promote that for safety reasons.
@ReachoneTeachone-np7hc9 жыл бұрын
Would anybody know if this truck is safe regarding male genitals? I use this truck and the stance area does get hot knowing the battery is right in front of it. Although there is a barrier, it doesn't seem to be working as the radio active battery is burning could be hazardous. Has anyone ever felt that it can harm your reproductive system??? I'm in this truck 8 hours a day exposed to it..

4250 Pacers and 7500 Reach Trucks great trucks when there brand new but to much problems when they start to wear down, Crown is a lot more durable than Raymond trucks just my opinion, but one thing I really like is the training classes that Raymond gives now to me that is a BIG PLUS IN MY BOOK!!!

These guys would be written up at our warehouse for going so slow and not meeting standards. Full speed at all times. You learn to lay on the horn and listen for it as well... These are way better than any Crown out there! All we have is Raymond lifts and long johns at our warehouse now..No more Hysterical or Crown...
@znovosad5556 жыл бұрын
That's how accidents happen and why forklifts have tons of accidents. That's the biggest reason I wont go work for a real warehouse. Even more unrealistic expectations and productivity times. Its plain unsafe. I can drive the machine and get things done fairly efficiently but it's by no means a race.
@yodambomb49746 жыл бұрын
Exactly ., I can hit 17-18 replenishes an hour going at that speed ., it’s before you get to the pallet that takes the majority of your time ., if your quick on the touch “ touch of an angel “ . You’ll still get 2-3 drops every 10 minutes
@znovosad5556 жыл бұрын
Yodam Bomb and again that's why forklifts have such a high accident rating. They're dangerous machines to begin with but adding that speed gives a lot more room for error

Billy, Raumond offers a sit/stand model as well. It is there 7700 model. It has an open view mast design like the 7500 series and is 21% more efficient than the Crown reach truck; meaning longer run time, more pallets moved, less energy used to charge the battery and more productive. Ask your local sales rep to get you a demo truck. You'll be blown away by it.
@EETechs10 жыл бұрын
Sorry bud, but as a tech that works on both Crowns and Raymonds, you are dead wrong. Crown is a FAR better design. Raymond in fact copied the setup exactly like Crown with the 7500 series. The older 7400 series could not come close to run time of a Crown because it did not have regen on lowering the reach carriage. It was not until the 7500 series came out that Raymond was able to achieve what Crown has since 2009 with running the lift motor in regen mode when lowering the reach carriage. Also, Raymond still uses brushed DC motors for the steering and in the new 7500 series a brushed DC motor is used for the reach carriage functions. Crown uses all AC motors. Please be careful what you try to tell people because people like me will call you out that has experience with working on both.

We use Crowns with the option to sit or stand. Way better than the Raymond we use to have.
@codylujan10 жыл бұрын
we use the universal stance at our warehouse. I drive one almost every night to get pallets down for the electric pallet jacks. our company really needs the 8400 series of pallet trucks. The ones we got now are old and wearing down. The one I drive is arguably the fastest one in the warehouse. It peaks at like 18mph
@martinclevion689811 жыл бұрын
Tommy Bear Bear, theres nothing wrong with lifting the load and drive with in the air. Depends on what it is tho. The main thing these guys do wrong, is driving with the forks in front of them with and without pallet and load. If I where to film how we drive our reaches at the warehouse im working at, everyone would be shocked because of the speed and effectiveness.
@tommy416266167011 жыл бұрын
Yeah u really should have used drivers that where more safe in their handling. Going through ends of isle without stopping, or even looking, is extremely dangerous..all drivers learn to make adjustments when in tight isles, the woman is the best example that when u have no room u can lift the load in the air slowly, pivoting as you turn..but the black dude, man he is just plain scary..i have worked with guys like him before..scary and dangerous..
@tommy416266167011 жыл бұрын
This black dude on the raymond should be fired..honestly, this guy drives and turns with a load in the air, this could easily make the truck tip over, plus he can hit the other beams or knock the other skid above off the rack...then he comes around a corner without evening seeing what is in front..fire this guy before he kills someone..
@yodambomb49746 жыл бұрын
You sound like you dislike black people ., he was going at very slow and comfterble pace and that was only a level 4 drops ., shit won’t tip 10 ft at that speed ., your a racist Tommythe bear

I have operated Raymond, Crown, and Yale reach trucks. I found the Raymond controls and handling to be much better. I have to say I prefer Raymond. The fore/aft or universal stance trucks are my favorite but I'll take the sit down truck if I'm going to be using it for my entire shift. Good job guys. I like your lifts.

I can understand what you are saying. No hard feelings. People like what they like. Of course, If I got one in front of you I could probably make you feel safer then the Crown truck. Dockstance, Rear Vertical Post, programmable speeds to your liking, Fork Tip Lasers, Operator Compartment Sensor System.... Come on... give us another chance! Things have changed!
@ksarringer11 жыл бұрын
Raymond offers three operator orientations, Universal Stance, Side Stance and a Sit/Stand model. Competitors only offer one option. Would you rather be stuck with what is offered or have a choice in what the operator's like? It's all about the operator is comfortable driving.
@ksarringer11 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jclownwalk! I agree as well! I believe that the only reason people buy competitor trucks is because that's what they are use to driving. From a business perspective, Raymond forklifts are easier to operate, safer to drive, are more efficient then other trucks out there, move more pallets per hour then the competition, are "greener" due to smaller carbon footprint then the competition and much more!

These are my favorite reach trucks but the dock stance ones, im not used to the first ones switching from foward to backwards just makes things more difficult i just gotta get used to one of those.

Cant say I like this truck. Its not a complete failure but after driving crowns for years and then driving one of these, not only did I feel less safe using it but my productivity dropped 50%. Im sure getting used to it would help with productivity "some", but I dont think the unsafe feeling I get from driving it would go away.

OSHA may require a business' warehouse staff to where hard hats. If not, Raymond does offer an optional steel mesh guard to go over the top of the Overhead Guard to protect the operator from smaller packages that could fall through the guard (if the customer using the reach truck has those types of products in their warehouses).
@ksarringer12 жыл бұрын
I've never seen them fail on any reach truck out there. Raymond does offer an optional steel mesh guard to go over the top of the Overhead Guard to protect the operator from smaller packages that could fall through the guard (if the customer using the reach truck has those types of products in their warehouses). Not all applications call for that feature though.
