The second and third team practices. You put them in the game hoping they execute what you’ve practiced. You don’t put them in and tell them to go easy due to Maryland’s feelings.

Penn State had their backups in I dont see what the problem is. Those guys are always a play away from being “the guy” at their position so when you have an opportunity to give them actual game experience so they can be ready if they’re ever called on you take it. If the 1’s you were still out there I could understand being pissed off

Every team at every level from pee wee to nfl, lets the clock run out with 20 seconds left. Yet PSU has so much class that Franklin decides to throw 2 more times and run up score. To prove what? That you are finally back from the Ped State years of child molester enabling. Congrats!

Does Franklin actually think the CFP Committee is going to reward him for scoring that TD lol? He does most things in his program right, but this wasnt one of them

Every year (starting this off-season) requires the usual HS recruiting but also picking up to 4-5 portal players to fill in the gaps. 2025 will need a few fast and experienced WRs plus a couple of fast LBs. 2026 may require a different mix of players and so on. Meanwhile, the HS recruits still work as usual. Of course, NIL money is critical.

@PennStateFootball1 i understand, but he was recruited in the same cycle AND he impacts depth. Look, I did not want PSU to lose Woods, but you have to look at last year's class combined with this year's and the decision to go to UF makes sense. Penn State has talent at the DE and DT spots. Playing time would be hard to come by. Also, we forget the transfer portal (Chop, Sutton and others). This day and age, HS recruiting does not make or break a class.

Commitments from top HS recruits are great, but USC, UCLA, UW, IU, and UNL are going full portal this off-season and will pass PSU in the BIG10 as early as 2025. The staff needs to put full resources and effort in getting much needed top WRs, LBs, and OL from the portal to stay ahead of the game. It's big business now.
