The best version of this great song that I have ever heard. Hugh Laurie’s rasp and growl is a perfect complement to the phenomenal band. Sublime!

Not sure whether this version is on Apple Music. I found it on KZbin as a Bronson Island production, and I added the lyrics.

My most sincere gratitude for this staggeringly beautiful rendition. If the music video is original, I am further in awe. This is my introduction to your music. Brilliantly done!

I really can’t take too much credit for the video as all I did was use the one from another poster’s feed which came from the Polish movie by Pawel Pawlikowski - “Cold War,” but was attached to the original Bob Dylan music (which I love, but I love the Cowboy Junkies’ version even more). I saw that the Dylan original was almost exactly the same length as the Cowboy Junkies’ version, so I stripped the Dylan music away from the video (hated to do that-almost sacrilegious as I love Dylan) and dubbed in the Cowboy Junkies’ music. I then added the lyrics to the video. This video montage caused me to watch the full movie “Cold War,” and I was so moved by its tragic love story that it made me fall even more in love with the video clip played with the incredible voice of the Cowboy Junkies’ Margo Timmins. I will find the original Dylan version with this video montage and will put it in another “reply” comment so that you will be able to see it and compare which version you prefer. Cheers

Haven't listened to this band since "Men amonst Mountains"; I've always thought their older stuff was better. I wish they played more "City of Sound" in their concerts. I quit being a fan after MaM, but this is one of my favorite songs of all time. The sax solo at the end is everything.
