Nice landing...nice video. But, please think about relocating your camera. All we can see of the forward view is the windshield post. Didn't see the runway until you were over it.

Will do, been experimenting with various views so that the instruments are also visible. Thanks for checking out the video. Check out this video where I tried a bunch of camera angles... even an outside view: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4KuhnmXh7yNf5I

Well flown approach! I love the 340! I flew one out of TEB. Even loaded with passengers I would routinely climb through 10,000 feet at 1,000 fmp indicating 120 kts. Fun times!

lol, he uses a mask for the preflight when you’re not shoulder to shoulder but then no mask while you’re shoulder to shoulder in the plane.. That was literally the dumbest time in the world… Nice video other than that.

Yup, the FBO needed masks at that time. He didn't care to use it in the plane :)

Does this fly basically the same as a Cherokee?
@johnandrew58
@johnandrew58 2 жыл бұрын
I owned a Cherokee until 2016 when I bought the Saratoga. They are very similar in handling. The main differences are: retractable gear (had to do 10 hours with an instructor to get insurance); variable pitch prop; different speeds; landing technique (keep power on into flare, landing it more like a jet because that long and heavy nose can drop quickly) and taxing (nose makes it tricky). But I found the transition amazingly easy.

I'm flying a plane with a 650. I use foreflight on ipad with Stratus receiver for weather. Any comment on xm weather vs the weather from stratus/foreflight?
@johnandrew58
@johnandrew58 2 жыл бұрын
I think what you're asking is really XM weather vs ADS-B weather (which you're seeing on Foreflight) . I greatly prefer XM but I to use both. Honestly, I could not imagine flying without the XM, especially IFR which is how I fly most of the time. It's well worth the money.

I had a 1980 T Saratoga right before I moved into my 414. Great plane. Prepared me well for my move up into the 414. My wife and I used to take the back seats out and load our 10 speed bikes and fly to the small islands in Lake Erie (Put In Bay, Kelly's Island), Traverse City and Mackinac Island.
