Ted Bundy didn't have to die in the electric chair! Before Bundy's trial in Miami the state of Florida offered Bundy a plea deal of a 70 year sentence in exchange for pleading guilty, and saving the state the cost of a trial. Out of pure narcissism Bundy refused the plea deal. Instead, Bundy represented himself in the trial. Bundy was so narcissistic that he thought that he could beat the system. Now I don't believe that narcissism explains everything about why Bundy murdered innocent young women, but it goes a long way. With Bundy everything was always about him. Bundy had no empathy for others. I think in Ted's mind killing another person was no different than any of us killing an animal that we would consider a pest!

Ted Bundy didn't have to die in the electric chair! The state of Florida offered Bundy a plea bargain of a 70 year sentence if he pled guilty before his first trial, and saved the state the cost of a trial. Bundy was so narcissistic that he thought that he could beat the legal system with his knowledge from law school. Well Ted was wrong about that!

It's funny how "Evil" is such a subjective concept, linked to Natural Selection and the supremacy of a species. HUMAN BEINGS, are literally, the scum of the Earth. They drive entire species to FULL EXTINCTION, out of greed, vanity, glutony or sadistic hatred. Yet, human beings on the comment, dicussing how Ted Bundy looks so evil. Probably within a few hours, or the next day, those same people will eat a McDonald's hamburguer, made out of a peaceful cow, which lived a nasty and miserable life, in order for the burguer to be so cheap. And no, I'm not a vegan. I'm just making a point. HIPOCRISY.

it's a soup. everyone is looking for e = mc2, the magical diagnosis. the reality is it's a combination of many variables, illnesses, a combination of nature and nurture, there is no single explanation for a ted bundy, they have characteristics that you could possibly profile with but as james fallon discovered, psychopaths are able to function at highly sociable levels.

Hybristophilia . It's a real thing - lots of mass murderers, rapists and serial killers get tons of fan mail and a lot of it from women who want to marry them, be their GF, etc. One of the reasons I think it's important to discuss the details of what guys like Bundy do is to break this misunderstood romantic trope that gets built up around him - he raped and murdered over 30 women including two 12 year old girls, kept body parts in his apartment as sexual playthings and returned to the body of recent victims several times to engage in necrophilia.
