I think we are going to use this curriculum for our granddaughter. When is the best time to sign up for 2024-2025 year? We usually start teaching the first week in August.

I know this might be a stupid question but I'm so new to this homeschooling thing. My wife and I want to we can homeschooling next school year for my child to start first grade. How do I know which classes he needs to take to ensure that he meets requirements that he needs for our state? How do we ensure that he is learning what is going to be required of him to know Tell me about to the next grade? Once again I apologize if it's a dumb question but I'm so new to this and very scared and paranoid about putting my child at a disadvantage because of my unpreparedness or ignorance on how this all works. Thank you for your resources and am excited to begin this journey using schoolhouse teachers because it seems like exactly what we need especially for the price! Thank you again for your work and I will be following for more updates!

I'm glad my review was helpful! The site has a large amount of parental support. Most curricula are grade-aligned so if the student is comprehending and completing assignments for their respective grade, they're generally on track. Since laws vary by state, I recommend you to join Homeschool Legal Defense Association (hslda.org). They list every law by state as well as helpful resources. Another great article for beginner homeschoolers is (www.theoldschoolhouse.com/yes-you-can-start-homeschooling-mid-year). You can also get a free homeschool Info-Pak at (tryhomeschooling.com). Also, check out the scope and sequence for the Schoolhouse Teachers curriculum here (schoolhouseteachers.com/member-resources/scope-and-sequence/). It shows what the average student can be expected to do for each grade.

I am strongly considering this but it seems like it would be beneficial for each student to have their own computer yeah?

Yes. It is helpful, but not required. If you download the PDF lessons to a tablet, students can still access any links to additional information. Also, if you print the worksheets/lessons, students can work offline. With so many courses to choose from, most families can find a good fit for them.

Yes, you can watch them on your phone. Just login (at bottom of their homescreen) and go the videos. You must click go to class lessons on some videos to access them. It's rather easy once you get comfortable with navigating the site. As for the TV, I'm not sure. I'll have to try it and let you know.

I've been looking for a different curriculum for my kids, we took a break from homeschooling for three years but I recently pulled my oldest and have been using time 4 learning and I'm just not happy with it. I'll be homeschooling the rest of my kids this coming year and I found schoolhouse teachers and this is definitely the one I'm going with and your video helped me see that I'm definitely making the right choice! I used my Father's world in the past and loved it but the price is just way too much!
