15 years later, still cannot get over how beautiful this is.

Love the sound, the connection between the singers, the different colors and the theatrality of the interpretation!

The Cheese Lords, though suspicious, are professional amateurs. They have sung for the pope, in person. Pope liked them. They kick choral ass for the period they favor with their suspicion.

Wish I could "LIKE" 100 times!!! SCL have contributed their beautiful music to Solemn Vespers of Laetare Sunday in years past at our parish. This year, thanks to Institute of Catholic Culture, they return for Solemn Vespers with the Canons Regular of the New Jerusalem at newly-designated BASILICA OF ST. MARY in Old Town Alexandria stmaryoldtown.org/laetare-sunday-vespers-18/

Not suspicious at all. Taste and see. Very beautiful Was listening to the New York Polyphony tonight performing this piece. I thought, something is missing, a richness. I remembered listening to this account many years ago. This is the seminal performance. Sublime. NYP are seemingly up for a grammy for one of their recordings.

Yeah same here. it's weird how there's like 10 different melodies for these lyrics.. I think this one is the best, it's haunting.. but there's another that's brighter and possibly more beautiful. the rest are crud though. I wish I knew how to search for just this version. is it 'giuseppe pitoni version'? It's funny because i heard this version at a renaissance festival once and i had no idea there were multiple versions until youtube

This sounds perfect! It brings back so many memories! My senior year in high school we sang this as an SAB trio and made it to state level competition. To you high school and jr. high school children who said you did better: I'd wager big money to say you were definitely wrong. For one thing, you're still children. Your voices and knowledge of music still have too much developing to do. Also, you little bullies, how would you like it if I came and bashed something you spent so much effort on?

Amazing.

I have scoured the internet for this version, amongst the countless other renditions. Tell me, did your highschool teacher give you this awesome version to sing, which they didn't, or did they give you the crap versions 99% of all highschoolers get? You have the mind of a child, this is what I have been looking for, for over 20 years.

Brumel wrote it, Josquin took it and used it in a parody mass. We often performed the Brumel and the Josquin together for fun. Cheese Lords are silly like that.
