Echt tof man!!! Respect.

“What we’re learning is very interesting in all the studies on Happiness. There are all these studies on Happiness emerging. They’re quite fascinating. What they show is if you’re in dire poverty, unhappy. You’re on a garbage dump looking for food for your kids you can’t be empathic to the polar bears on the pole. Really, you’re just scrounging for survival. And what the Happiness studies show is that each increment of wealth of poverty up makes you happier. Until you reach a threshold of comfort then something interesting happens every time they do the study everywhere in the world. After that threshold of comfort each additional income of wealth gives you a little less happiness and then at a critical point of wealth you become Unhappy. But you keep it up because the addiction is, the reason I’m not happy is because I don’t have enough. So it’s like an addiction. It’s called the “Hedonic Treadmill”. ~Jeremy Rifkin
