Those numbers are based on the light sitting on the tank the bracket kit I believe sits 6 to 8 off the tank

I just bought some meso blues. Don’t have em yet. Can’t wait. Are you in as a hobby or do you sell coral or something? I have a light already that does whites. I’m almost worried it will be too much par. I just bought a par reader cause right now I’m guessing. But you and some ppl on reefer website raved about these meso blues. And I was missing the fluorescent pops. I heard these bring out the fluorescent corals

You can't use an underwater quantum meter in "air" without a correction factor. Even set to "sun" it is just sun under water. >>> The MQ-510 quantum meter is designed for underwater PAR measurements and already applies the sensor's immersion effect correction factor to the meter readings through firmware. <<< The - sensor has an immersion effect of 1.32.

My other video has par underwater. It’s was giving you an idea of par especially against other brand bars.

I have a new tank coming, 6'x3'x2'D, wanted to run mixed LPS and SPS. Do you think we could get away with these bars only with the depth ?
@corals-4-u2 жыл бұрын
That tank in the video is 16” deep and getting 250 par on the bottom in the middle. A 24” deep tank should be fine having LPS and SPS easy. I’d say three bars if you want SPS and LPS on the sand and the lower areas.

Heavily considering the Quanta Pro Led bars for a 4-foot tank build I am working on. Would these work as primary lighting? Potentially mixing two of the different spectrums offered in order to get a balanced look. So many options. Thanks for the information. Be sure to keep us updated.
@corals-4-u2 жыл бұрын
Very much would work as primary/only lighting. I have three 4’ bars on a 6’ x 3’ frag tank and it blankets the entire tank between 150-300

Can you do a comparison on the reefcrest ab+ ,mega blue ,and the og pop light comparison so we could see the difference in color

Haha, Second guess is darn close, French Polynesia a few islands away from Tahiti. Can’t say spot because locals wouldn’t let me come back, but Empty lineups and the locals are really chill.

I am looking for a blue led light I have the daylight Orphek and it is a terrible light, so I need something to smooth it out, I would like a blue plus light not a black light UV light, any recommendation?
@corals-4-u2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the size of your tank? What size do you have? I’m using these bars as supplemental lighting to my kessils to add more pop as well as hit the areas on my SPS that are shaded. His meso blue covers most of the UV-blue spectrum and looks really good. I haven’t used Orpheks daylight bulbs but in general fish colors look great but corals not so much under Daytime bulbs. Having some blue bars like these to run in the morning and evening and ramping up daytime would definitely do the trick. Be careful with amount of light. Blue leds can be putting out a lot of light without it even looking like a lot and burn corals that aren’t used to it.

@@corals-4-u I have a 120 gallon tank so it is 4' x 2' x2' classic shape.
@corals-4-u2 жыл бұрын
Definitely one quanta reef will work if you’re not doing SPS, and if you are going to do hard corals two quanta bars and your orphek would be plenrty. Use the quanta reef (meso blue or OG pop) for your entire light cycle and have your orphek bar run for a couple hours in the middle of the day. That’ll make your coral colors have a lot more blue and fluoresce and pop way more. Good luck man

How is the shipping?
@corals-4-u2 жыл бұрын
They are super sturdy bars. The largest and strongest aluminum ones I have seen, he could probably ship them with no box and they’d do alright but they’re shipping is well done too

So Lighting 6’ LPS tank Costs 2 190$ fixtures for 380$ Or 2 800$ (kessil or radions) 1600$ Hmm Also a good option which I like and will probably do on my main display is 2 strips and then two a360xs or ap9x. Get the boost if par in the needed blue spectrum and then have the daytime light from the kessils to give the fish the spectrum they need to make their colors pop.
@corals-4-u2 жыл бұрын
So on a 6 foot tank that is 3 feet wide (6’ x 3’) footprint, you could get away with two of the four foot light strips for LPS, SPS tanks could use three of the 4 foot fixtures and have SPS on the upper 3/4’s of the tank and four of the strips and have SPS all the way to the bottom and anywhere in the tank. Look wise. Two or Three meso blues and a reef crest, or two and two for more daytime look and better spread
