Hi, thank you! Great mod really! Do I understand correctly that you did not unsolder existing wiring to the original switch but just added two new wires? Thank you! Also how do you think will it work with guitar experession/volume pedal?
@levhvoya3 жыл бұрын
Exactly. The original switch can still be used at the same time. About pedals... Well, you will need to use both legs obviously. :) But it will work. A volume pedal makes more sense AFTER the Freeze, in my opinion.

did you ever draw up a wiring diagram? Im going to try to do this, but the video is a bit rough showing the solders

Long hair needs to be washed sometimes. That takes time that one can spend playing didgeridoo, and shampoo, which costs money, which one can spend on more waste pipes. :)

Аmazing DIY/PIY project, Leo! But most impressive for me is to see your "Glatze": for sure the long hair will cause the overtones and scratch the sound!

I just did the mod. Worked perfectly. I bought the "Alesis ASP-2 Universal Piano-Style Sustain Pedal" and it works perfectly. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PedalPianoA--alesis-sp-2-universal-sustain-pedal I also really like the price! $19.00

Yes, it will. :)

Rather than hold the unit with added notes it would have been better to have made a simple wiring diagram and shown that. But it's a great idea --- not sure about all that drilling with loose metal dust etc. flying everywhere into and around the exposed circuitry. Still a thumbs up, though, for the idea.

Hi Leo... new to electronics, but did go for this mod. It worked, except the expression pedal works opposite of the pedal switch (the effect is on when the pedal is not pressed). Any idea what would do this? Thanks!
@levhvoya6 жыл бұрын
You can try to re-solder the contacts in the opposite way - just to change their places. If this not helps... Try another pedal (I can imagine that not all sustain pedals work the same way),
@marka75196 жыл бұрын
You can also use an expression pedal like an M-Audio SP2 that has a polarity switch, and then you can change it on the fly. Some devices use negative and some positive. I've found some things get cool results when you can do both. Thanks for doing this mod, btw. Very cool.

Have you seen the new Plus pedal? When the Freeze came out I thought it would work like what you did with yours. I may have to get one and try to do the same as you. How is it possible we have a myriad variations of the same effects but not more like these? Thanks for posting your mod. Any chance of something more detailed? I have no idea about electronics but I'd like to do the same.
@levhvoya7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for information! No, I haven't seen the Plus pedal before. Have pre-ordered it right now!
@joetowers48047 жыл бұрын
My pleasure! I am glad you liked it. Honestly, if I could afford it, it would be the most important pedal for me. I liked what you accomplished with the Freeze too. Hopefully there are other ways to get to a similar result through other means. Please do some videos of you using it. I really liked your approach to bass.

thanks for this fantastic idea. do you think this would be possible with the superego?
@levhvoya7 жыл бұрын
There's nothing to be said against this. At least, every switch is just a shortcut between two contacts, and thus can be replaced with such a sustain pedal. But I don't have Superego, and cannot answer you in details... :(
@darrendcunha32167 жыл бұрын
Much appreciated thanks!

The downside to any mod is the manufacturer won't honor a warranty or repair it even at your cost after you changed it. Some void a warranty when you open the box because they don't know what you did with it.

did the original button still working? like if you unplug the sustainer pedal (or even if it's pluged in) did the original button work?
@levhvoya8 жыл бұрын
Yes, surely. They are working parallel. You can think of it like following: to switch the pedal on you need a shortcut between two contacts. Sustainer pedal just gives you another possibility to make this shortcut.

Leo Bachrach Perfect! Im gonna try it. i just need to buy the parts
